ENGLISH GRADE 1 Unit 3: COLORS Lesson 3: Part A, B, C I. Objective

1. Language focus

- By the end of this lesson,Ss will be able to identify the color of objects and show gratitude.

Vocabulary: pink, white, flower

Structures : It's a (pink) flower/ Thank you/ You're welcome.

2. Skills

- Practice listening, speaking, reading, writing skills 3. Core competencies & Personal qualities

- Encourage Ss to use the structure more regulary.

II. Teaching aids

1. Teacher’s aids: Ss’book and teacher’s book, class CDs, flashcards, projector, TV.

2. Students’ aids: Student book, notebooks, workbook III. Method:

- Model - Talk - Practice, individual work, pair work, group work.

IV. Procedures:

1. Warm up (5’)

*Activity: Seven lives

- T draw or stick seven bodies outlines on the board.

- T gives Ss a topic.

- T choose a word. Draw one line on the board for each letter in a word, for example: _ _ _ (red).

- T asks Ss to put up their hands to say a letter, if the letter is in the word, teacher writes it on the line. If the letter is not in the word, the teacher removes one of the bodies from the board.

- When students complete the word or lose all

- T arrange the flashcards on the board and write a number under each card.

- T asks Ss to look at the flashcards for the count of ten. Turn the flashcards over to face the board when Ss are not looking.

- T call out a number and asks Ss to take turns to guess the face - down card. Turn the card over after each guess.

*Activity B:

1. Listen and point. (5’)

- T asks Ss to call out the things they can see.

- T asks Ss to listen and follow.

- T plays the CD and demonstrate pointing.

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to listen and point.

2. Listen and repeat. (5’)

- T asks Ss to look at the useful language box.

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to listen to the useful language.

- T asks Ss to practice the useful language.

*Activity C. Play "Guess the picture." (5’) - T asks Ss to look at the example.

- T divides the class into two teams.

- T stops the music suddenly. Ask Ss who are holding the flashcards to stand up and say the sentence.

E.g. It’s a pink flower.

- T plays the music and continues in the same way.

- Learn by heart the word “pink, white, flower”

and sentences patterns.

*Activity D. 1. Listen to the story. (8’) - T introduce the situation.

- T asks Ss to call out the people and things they can see.

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to listen and read.

2. Listen and repeat. (7’)

- T asks Ss to look at the useful language box.

- T plays the CD and asks Ss to listen to the useful language.

- T asks Ss to practice the useful language.

*Activity E. Role-play. (8’) - T divides the class into pairs.

- T asks Ss to practice the dialogue.

- T asks Ss to swap roles and repeat.

- Afterwards, T calls some pairs demonstrate the activity in front of the class.

*Activity “Slap” (7’)

- Split the class into four teams.

- Place pictures of flowers on the board.

- T calls 4 Ss to come to the board to face off.

- T calls out the sentence and asks Ss run to the board then slap the picture and repeat the
