LESSON 1 (1) : NEW WORDS, LISTENING, CONVERSATION SKILL (Page 54)

I. THE AIMS OF THE LESSON.

1. Knowledge.

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

+ Vocabulary: Gain vocabulary items about moivies (comedy, science fiction, horror, action, drama, animated)

+ Structure: Use expressions for suggesting: What about, How about, Why don’t we, Do you want to ….? Let’s

Make and respond to suggestions about movies and start a friendly conversation.

2. Ability:

- Ss can practice communication skills and listening skills.

- Ss form and develop competencies: the ability to develop self-study, creative ability, reaction and team-working skills through learning activities.

3. Quality:

- Ss have illustrate problem-solving and critical-thinking skills through learning activities.

- Ss' qualities are helped to develop such as: Establish responsive and independent characteristics to be a long-life learner.

III. TEACHING PROCESS.

1. Activitiy 1: Warm up: (6 minutes) a) Objective:

- Help Ss review using: some kinds of films they have known and the answers about their favourite films.

- To lead to the new unit: movies.

b) Content:

- T asks Ss some questions about their favourite films, then gives a picture of the theme and ask them to guess.

c) Products: Ss know about the topic of the unit: movies.

d) Organization of implementation:

2. Lead-in:

- Asks Ss some questions to link to the new lesson:

“ Do you want to see a movie on Saturday?”

Ex: I watch a lot of movies in the winter.
