WHAT DO YOU DO IN YOUR FREE TIME ?

Lesson 3: 1+2+3

I. AIMS:

1. Knowledge:

By the end of the lesson pupils can use the words and phrasers related to the topics Free time activities

Ask and answer questions about what a family member does in his/hẻr free time ,using What does your father do in his /her free time ? He/She goes shopping.Say questions and answers with thecorrect intonation.

-Sentence patterns:

- Vocabulary:

1.Teacher’s: book, recording, pictures 2. Students’: books, notebooks, workbooks.

3. Attitude:- Educate ss to love their subject.

a - Explain that wh-questions and answers have falling intonation.

Open the book page 22, look at the sentences and words practise saying questions and answers with the correct intonation b. Listen and repeat.

- Play the recording for pupils to repeat listen and follow in the their books. Play the recording again for them to repeat the sentences .

Do choral and individual repetition of the words and the sentences until pupils feel confident Get some of them to perform the activitiy in front of the class,correct the pronunciation

Activity 2- Listen and circle a or b (10’ )

play the recording sentence by sentence for Ss to check their answers.

Activity 3.Let’s chan’t.(7’)

-Look at the Pic and guess the content - Look and introduce the chant

- Students read the chant and check comprehension

Play recording all the way through for pupils todo choral and individual repetition ,ss chant and do actions

- Call some groups and some volunters to perform before the class.

-Invite two groups to chant and do actions,the rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.

-Ss read the text and do the task independently and offer help,if necessary

-Ss swap and compare their answers before checking as a class .

a. Pre- writing

Ss are going to write about what their family do at the weekends.

Ss read the gapped sentences and think about what their family usually do at weekends.

-Give pupils time to do the task. - .go around and offer help

b. While-writing.

-Remind them about punctuation and when to use capital letters.Ss to read their advice in pairs before inviting two or three pupils to read their answers aloud.

. Get them to swap their answers before checking as aclass

Ss compare with their partners.

-Some pupils to read their answers aloud.

Activity 6. Project (5’)

-Tell the class that they are going tointerview two of their classmates about what they do in their free time

-Ask them to work in groups and copy the table below .give them time to do their interviews in class and complete the tdble.Then ask individual pupils to report their results.

--Invite two or three pupils to repeat their interviews in front of the class

Activity 7. Colour the star.(3’)

- Have the class read the statements and check their comprehension.

- Give them time to colour the stars and invite a few Ps to read the statements aloud.

- Give further support to Ps who find it difficult to achieve certain objectives.
