LESON 5: B6 -7 A.Objectives:

1. Aims:

- Listen about the distances from this place to an other place with “How far..?”

- Review vocabulary about the surroundings, means of transport, cardinal numbers

2. Practice skill:

- practice the comprehension speaking and listening skill.

3. The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge:

Listen the places that are mentioned in the text; Listen and write the

distances; after listening, use the information from the text to ask and answer;

Fill in the form with their own English information

+ Advanced knowledge: Make a survey table about information of 5 partners and represent before the class

4. Basic language:

- Vocabulary: still, at recess, stamp, center, take the bus, letter, pocket, to post - Tenses: simple present.

5. Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice listen and talk.

text book, posters , pictures.

C. Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

III. New lesson( 33’) Step 1: Pre-listening( 10’) - T presents the picture of the listening task. Ask questions:

1. What do you see in the picture ?

- Ss name the places they see on the picture such as: post office, market, school, bus stop, movie theater, stadium, museum, hospital.

- T asks questions:

2. Can you see Lan’s house ? 3. Is her house near or far from school/market/post office/ the theater?

Step 2: While -listening( 14’) - Listen to a tape and write down the 4 distances from Lan’s house to the school, from Lan’s house to the post office, from the school to the movie theater, from the movie theater to the post office.

- T asks Ss to predict the distance before listening to the tape. T takes notes into the listening table.

- T plays the tape, checks and corrects the answers.

- T uses the dialogue in the tapescripts with some information omitted. Then T plays the tape again, asks Ss to fill the blanks.

+ Advanced knowledge: Make dialogues of asking and answering about

someone’s personal information; Write a short passage about a new friend in the class after asking him or her about personal information ( A3) and retell before the class.
