Step 1: Pre - writing (14’) - Today, we are going to write postcards to your friends about your trip.

1. Gap fill:

* Set the scence:" From the USA Mrs Q sent a postcard to her friend Sally to tell her about the trip"

- Ask Ss to look at the postcard on P118 ansd complete the gaps with the appropriate words

- Call on some Ss to go to the board and write the words they guess.

2. Grid:

- Write the topic on the board "

Information needed to write a poscard"

- Ask Ss to look at section 2 P118 - Go through the instructions by using questions

Eg: Q1: What do you write about the place?

Q2: What do you write about the weather?

Draw the grid on the board - Let Ss copy the grid

- Ask Ss to read the postcard (write 1) again and fill in the gap with sentences showing the information on the left - Call one good Student to go to the board to fill

Step 2: While - writing (14’) - Set the scence:" Imagine you are atourist on vacation in a certain place/

city in VietNam. Write a postcard to a friend about your trip, using the

information in the grid.

- Tell Ss to write the information for their postcard first

- Ask Ss to work individually - Tell them to write the postcard following the information they prepared

Good morning everyone. Welcome to ENG travel. I’m Luck- your guide for your trip around New York next week. Now I want to inform you of your main activities for the two days.

On the fourth of August- the first day of our trip everyone should arrive at the airport before 7 am to get prepare for the 9 am flight. It will take 6 hours to get to New York and then we will take in board from the airport to the hotel.

On the second day we will leave the hotel at 8 am for a ferry trip to Liberty island where we can vee the Statue of Liberty. Next we will go to Times square and have dinner foe an hour. Later, in the afternoon you can choose the visit either Empire State Building or the Brooklyn bridge.
