LESSON 2 : SPEAK

(Page 34-35 ) A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to persuade their partners to attend an English language summer course abroad .

*. Language content:

a) Vocabulary: a dormitory , a campus , reputation , western culture b) Grammar : suggestion

- I don’t understand...

- Why don’t we... / If we go to ... we can...

2. Skills:

- Practice to work in pairs ask and answer about the best way to learn foreign language.

- Read these advertisements about some famous school then give the decide which school you choose to go to learn.

*. Giáo dục kĩ năng sống:

- Rèn cho h/s tự tin hơn khi sử dụng Tiếng Anh trong giao tiếp hang ngày với bạn bè và thầy cô giáo.

- Có thể sử dụng TA để bày tỏ tâm sự của bản thân với bạn bè.

- Lựa chọ cho mình một phương pháp học ngoại ngữ hợp lý và có hiệu quả cao. Đây cũng là cơ hội để h/s rèn luyện tính kiên trì trong học tập trước những việc khó.

- Kết hợp với bạn bè một cách chặt chẽ và cần sự hỗ trợ của thầy cô giáo để có thể giải quyết những vấn đề của bài học.

I think it would be better if we go to Australia because the course is cheap, only US $ 1,200. we can stay with an Australian family to practice speaking English . - Thu and Tam : Maybe, Let’s second thought.

- Hi, everybody ! I’m Thu. It’s my pleasure to tell you about the Brighton Language English center. It’s in the UK. Students who study here can live in dormitory on campus so it’s a good chance to mix up students from different country living in one room. The school has excellent reputation and it’s one of the best language school in the UK.

A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to listen and do the listening exercises then tell the difficulties when learning English.

*. Language contents

a. Vocabulary: work = job, national > < international, to improve (v) b. Grammar:

- The present continuous tense, used to do sth, want to do sth, have to do sth...

2. Skills:

- Practice listen skill to know how people learn English and do some exercises in language focus 1 about how to use the modal verbs with if.

*. Giáo dục kĩ năng sống:

- Bài học này sẽ gd cho h/s kỹ năng về sự lắng nghe tích cực và thể hiện sự cảm thông qua nội dung của bài nghe.

- Bên cạnh đó h/s còn biết hợp tác cùng GV và bạn bè để giải quyết những vấn đề mà bài học yêu cầu.

- Tích cực lắng nghe người khác nói chuyện về phương pháp học tập thể hiện sự tập trung chú ý và biết cách lựa chọn cho mình một phương pháp học tập phù hợp.

- Kĩ năng lắng nghe tích cực có quan hệ mật thiết với các kĩ năng giao tiếp, thương lượng, hợp tác, kiềm chế cảm xúc và giải quyết mâu thuẫn.
