UNIT 3: AT HOME

LESSON 2: LISTEN

A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use the prepositions of place to talk about the positions of furniture in the house.

*. Language contents:

a. Grammar: Review: - Ought to / should + V (infinitive) - Let’s + V (infinitive)

b. Vocabulary: Prepositions of position: above, beneath = under

(n) items in the house: rug, coffee table, dish rack, counter, rug, Calendar, cushion.

2. Skills:

- Use the simple sentence to describe about things in the living room or in the kitchen of the house.

- Practice listen short dialogue then check right in the picture.

*. Life skills education:

- Be aware of the value of household objects from which to protect and preserve those objects.

- Through listening, you can evaluate foods and drinks and have a choice of food to suit your life and age.

- Exercise a sense of self-discipline to support parents and families to arrange furniture in a neat and convenient way.

3. Attitudes:

- Enthusiastic about giving speeches to build lessons, know how to arrange things around scientifically, have a neat, orderly and scientific life.

4. Knowledge to achieve:

- To be able to improve both listening and speaking skills in the same medical/c class, students must actively and actively capture information from the listening lesson.

- Use the sample sentences in the lesson to replace and describe the position of other objects as required.

- Play; + Group 1: Kitchen + Group 2: Living room - Teacher divide the class into 2 teams

- Show the picture of a chicken to Ss.

- Ask them to study the things in the picture

- Take away the picture and ask Ss to write down as many things as they can remember.

- Which team having more things win games

- Write III. New lesson: (43’)

3. While-listening: (10’)

- T asks Ss to look at the pictures on page 30 and match these words with the correct pictures

- T cleans all words, asks Ss to write again - Two Ss from 2 groups write again on the board (one faster is the winner). Clap the hands group

- T asks: Who can write on the board your guessing?

- Comparing the right item in the textbook with students’ answers.

- Getting feedback.

- Then: pour some oil in, wait until it’s hot

- Next: fry the garlic and the green peppers

- After that: put the ham and the peas into rice and a teaspoon of salt in.

- Finally: put some rice and add some salt in

A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the safety precautions in the house and use Why - Because.

- Understand the content and presentation of a family safety warning.

*. Language focus:

a) Grammar: Wh-question (Why-Because  revision).

b) Vocabulary: -Adjectives: dangerous, electrical.

-Nouns: bead, chemical, match, precaution, socket.

-Verbs: cause, destroy, injure, kill.

2. Skills:

- Read to understand information about the safety things while using and all the things in the house to precaution for children.

*. Living skill:

- Ability to determine the value of household objects from which to have control over the work they do.

- Actively listen to the instructions or advice of others to have a safe operation and know how to take responsibility if something happens.

3. Attitudes:

- be aware of the danger to certain objects and know how to prevent them.

4. Knowledge to achieve:

- Read comprehension to get detailed information on precautions when handling and storing household objects to prevent dangers to young children.

- For students who are quite good, they can use present simple sentences to add things that they know but did not give in the lesson.

II. Warm up: (07 minutes) Brainstorming:

- T divides Ss into 2 groups and asks each group to come to the board and write the things that cause danger for children in the home.

- Ss play in group and take turns to write down the words.

III. New lesson: (36’)

- T models 3 times and gets Ss to repeat

- T divides class into 2 teams to play the game “slap the board”

On the other side of the oven, there is the sink and next to the sink is a towel rack. The dish rack is/stands on the counter to/on the right (side) of the window and the beneath the shelves. On the shelves and the counter beneath the window, there are jars of sugar, flour and tea. In the middle of the kitchen, there is the table and four chairs-The lighting fixture is above the table, and directly beneath the lighting fixture is the vase of flowers.
