Period 65: Unit 10: WHERE WERE YOU YESTERDAY?

Lesson 3 (4, 5, 6) I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of this unit, Ps can:

* Pronounce the sounds of the letters ed in the words played, watched and paited respectively.

2. Skills:

- Develop Ss listening, reading and writing skills.

- Have pupils greet.

Warm up: (5’)

*Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson. Get two groups to go to the front of the class to say the chant What did he do yesterday?

And do actions.

4. Read and complete: (10’)

*We are going to read the text and complete the sentences.

*Ask pupils to read the incomplete sentences under the text and elicit what words they need to fill the gaps. Then ask pupils to read the text to find the appropriate information (what Linda did in the morning, in the afternoon and in the evening) to complete the sentences.

*Get pupils to work in pairs or groups.

*Ask pupild to do the task independently.

* Ask pupils to swap their answers.

Two groups to go to the front of the class to say the chant What did he do yesterday? And do actions.

Listen.

*We are going to do an interview with one of their classmates about where he/she đi lát weekend and report to the class.

*Give each of them a piece of paper. Have pupils work in pairs and take turns asking Where were you last weekend? And What did you do there? They should take notes during the interview.

Example:

Hello everyone. I interviewed Thu. Last weekend, Thu was on the beach. She played badminton with her friends. They went

swimming in the sea. Then they had diner in a restaurant. They were very happy.

4. Consolidation: (2’)

*Asking Pupils to focus on the structure once again.

*Retell the content of the lesson.

5. Homework: (1’)

Do exercises in the workbook. Learn by heart the new words and structures.

Some pairs ask and answer the questions about what Linda did.

Period 66: REVIEW 2 – LESSON 1 (1, 2, 3) I. Aims and objectives

- By the end of lesson pupils will be able to review phonics, vocabulary, grammar that they have learn from unit 6 to unit 10.

II. Contents

A. Warm up and Review (5’)

* Net work game.

- T devides Ss into two groups - T explains how to play this game - T lets Ss play together

B. New lesson

Teacher’s activities Ss’ activities 1. Listen and tick (10’)

- Have pupils look at pictures on page 70 of the Student Book. Tell pupils that they are going to listen to the recording and tick the pictures they hear.

- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and tick the boxes. Check their guess.

- Play the recording again. T give the answer:

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’

comprehension of the listening text.

2. Read and circle (12’)

* Get pupils to look at the passage and tell the purpose of the task.

* Make sure pupils understand the task.

- Ask the students skim the sentences then scan each sentence before completing the sentence.

* Individual does the task.

* Set time and move around the classroom to monitor the activity.

- Ask the students share their result follow pairs.

- Let some students tick their answer on the board. Others look and give comments.

- Ss look and indentify the charaters in the ps and the characters’ words. Guess the answer.

- Ss listen and check their answers

- Read & do the task in individual

- Ss read the questions and write answers.

- Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction

- T introduces the topic “you are going to read the sentences to get the information in order to match the questions to the answers”.

- Ss read the sentences individually and check their prediction. Ss do the task (match the sentence with a appropriate picture.)

- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction

- Call on some Ss to report their answers.

Others listen and comment.

- Make a few questions to check Ss’

comprehension of the sentences.

3. Homelink: (2’)

- Have ss review the lesson and prepare the test.

- Look at the sentences in the book

- Read and work individually

- Work in pairs

- Compare the answer with the partner.

- Ss report their answers, the other give the comment.

Period 68: REVIEW 2 – LESON 3 (SHORT STORY 2, 3, 4) I. Objectives

- Help the pupils to revise all skills such as: Listen and tick, listen and number, read and match, read and complete, look and say, read short story.

- After revising, the pupils will be able to do the tasks related to vocabulary and spelling, listening, reading and writing to consolidate the language knowledge and skills they have learnt in the focused units.
