UNIT 16: LET’S GO TO THE BOOKSHOP.

Lesson 1 Part 1+2 I.

OBJECTIVES

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

1. Knowledge:

- Ask and answer questions about someone's physical appearance.

- Pupils can ask and answer questions - Suggest some place to go with a reason, and accept or decline the suggestion.

- identify the situation for conversation through listening and speaking between Mai and Phong.

Play game: Hangman with the word:

2. Presentation ( 30 mins)

Act 1 : Look, listen and repeat (10’)

Aim: identify the situation for conversation through listening and speaking between Mai and Phong about responding to suggestion to go somewhere.

Input: the dialogue in part 1 on page 40 Picture a, b,c,d

CD Procedure:

* Set the scene:

- T uses the pictures of the dialogue on page 40(Student book 1) to lead Ss in the conversation - Ask students to look at the 4 pictures in the book and check comprehension by eliciting the answers for these questions.

T: Who’s this?( pointing to the student)         

1.Look, listen and repeat (Show the task on the screen)

- look at the pictures and give the answers

- listen carefully

- listen and repeat - repeat the words.

- write down - listen and repeat.

Ss:.

T: Where is it?(Point to the school)     ?

- Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen and follow in their books.

- Play the recording again for Ss repeat the dialogue several times.( line by line in the bubbles).

- Point to the picture for Ss to read the dialogue again

- Have Ss to find out the new structure.

Out put: Student can listen and repeat the dialogue about responding to suggestion to go somewhere.

Act 2. Point and say. (20)

Aim:identify the vocabulary and structure about about responding to suggestion to go somewhere.

Input:

- Sentence Patterns: Let’s go to the ___. I want to ___. ̶ Great idea! / Sorry. I’m busy.

- Vocabulary : bakery - buy some bread;

pharmacy - buy some medicine; supermarket buy some food; sweet shop - buy some chocolate Procedure:

- Do the same way with other words.

- Listen and circle the letters showing the correct word completing the sentences. then write the word and say the completed sentences aloud.

- Say the chant Why do you want to ...?

2. Skills

-develop reading, writing and speaking skills 3. Attribute

- show their love and care to their asking for and giving reasons for going somwhere.

- develop their communication and collaboration skill at school, at home or public places by making friends, working

- In put: sounds, words and sentences in part 1 page 44 listening file about the sounds, words and sentences

- Procedures:

-Introduce the sylable of a word - Ps’ attention on the words book. Tell ss that this is a one syllable word

- Listen and repeat. Read in groups. in pairs.

- Ps practice the sounds, words, and sentences carefully

- Some Ss reports the answer. The rest of the class listen and give comments.

- Ask ss to find some other words with the sound have learnt.

- Procedures:

- Run through the task then tell ss that they are going to listen and complete the sentence they hear.

- Listen to the recording 2 times and write.

- Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner.

- Check and correct.

- Ask ss to practise saying the sentences Out put: Ss listen and write the correct words in the missing sentences. Ss read the sentences.

*Activity 3. Let’s chant(10’)

- Aim: - Say the chant Why do you want to ...?

- In put: The chant “ Why do you want to do?” on page 44 and the listening file

- Procedures:

-- Run through the sentence by sentences - Play the CD for Ss to listen.

- Play the CD. Ask students to read each sentence in the chant.

- Play the chant again and asks students to read.

- Ask students to read the chant, combine
