UNIT 2: LETTER Bb Lesson 3 (6, 7)
I. OBJECTIVES:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will able practice the letter and the sound which they learned through some activities.
2. Skills: - Develop Ss listening, reading, writing and speaking skill.
3. Attitude: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English.
II. TEACHING AIDS:
1. Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, flashcards, CD and computer.
2. Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.
III. METHOD:
- Communicative approach.
Techniques: + Work individually, in pairs/ groups.
IV. PROCEDURE:
1. Organization:
- Greetings: T – Ss greet each other.
- Checking attendance: Who’s absent today? Ss: Answer

2. Warm up: (5’)
Greet students.
Review the previous lesson by playing the “Word chain game”.
- Put phonics cards ‘Bb, ball, bed, bee’ on the board.
- Point to the student. He/She says the first word in the sequence, e.g., Bb
- Point to another student. He/She repeats the previous word, then says the next word in the sequence, e.g., Bb ball.
- Continue with each student saying the next word in the sequence.
Give feedback.

Act 1: Circle the pictures. (3mins)
Use the phonics cards to elicit the pictures starting the b sound
Ask students to circle these pictures
Go around for helping
Act 2 : Thumbs Up or Down. (5mins)
Number the pictures from 1 to 6.
Ask the students to put their thumbs up if the picture starts with b sound and put their thumbs down if the picture starts with b sound.
e.g. Teacher: (point to the first picture in the book)
Picture number 1, Up or Down?
Class: (putting their thumbs down)
Teacher: Good! Picture number 2? Up or Down?
7. Listen, point and repeat. Colour the pictures of the words that start with the b sound. Say the b word. (Track 13)

Show the students the bear phonics card.
Point to it and say: /b/ - bear. Ask them to repeat.
Mime growling like a bear and say /b/, bear.
Encourage the students to do the same.
Say the letter and ask students do the action.
Play the CD.
Ask students listen, point to and repeat the word.
Act 2: Colour the pictures of the words that start with the b sound. Say the b word. (7mins)
Point to pictures and have students name them.

II. Production. (10 mins) Act 1 : Whispers.
Line up the students into two teams of six.
Show the phonics cards to the first student only in each group.
This student whispers the word to the next student behind.
The students continue whispering the word until the final student shouts out the word.
4. Consolidation: Consolidate the content of the lesson.
5. Homework: Read the words on the text book.
