Unit 12: Let’s eat Lesson 3: B

A. Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- Listen for specific information to complete the story.

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to understand why Ba had to go to the doctor’s by listening.

2. Skills:

- practice listening skill and writing skill.

3. Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice listening.

B. Teaching- aids:

Lesson plan, textbooks, pictures.

C. Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

- Some techniques can be used: Mime, T/ F Prediction, Comprehension questions, Gap – fill, Retelling the story.

D. Procedure :

I. Organization( 1 minutes) - Greeting: Good morning!

- Who’s absent today?

Class: ……… Date of teaching: ……… Absent Ss: ...

* Picture drill:

- show the picture then collect them + rewrite the things they have just seen - remark

III-New lesson (35’):

Picture drill:

 rice, noodles, fish, vegetables, fruit, beef, orange juice, water.

Step 1: Pre - listening 1. Vocabulary :

( explain)

( Antonym of clean) Sts : - listen.

- listen and repeat (chorally then individually).

- copy.

Checking : ROR 2. T/ F Prediction.

- Set the scene: Ba was ill last week. What

‘s the matter with him? Les’s guess before listening.

- T sticks the poster on the board.

- Ask sts to give their predict .

- Ask sts to compare with each other.

- T collects sts’ prediction.

Step 2: While - listening 1. Checking prediction

- Teacher plays the tape for Ss to listen - Ss listen and check their predictions - Give feedback and correct.

2. Comprehension questions

- Ss listen again and answer the questions.

Step 3: Post - listening Activity 1: Gap – fill

- Ss complete the story B1.

- Set the class in groups of 6. Each group has a secretary. Write their answers on the poster

- Give feedback and correct.

1. Vocabulary

- dirt (n): bụi bẩn, bụi đất - dirty (adj): bẩn

- terrible (adj) = awful: khủng khiếp - probably (adv)( translation): có lẽ - carefully(adv)(translation):1cách cẩn thận

2. Listening Poster

1) Ba had a headache.

2) He was at the doctors.

3) He ate spinach, but his parents didn’t.

4) His Mum washed the spinach.

5) Vegetables often have dirt on them.

6) That dirt can’t make him sick.

Answer keys :

1) What did Ba eat last night ? 2) Who washed the spinach ? 3) Why did Ba go to the doctor ? 4) What made him sick ?

1) Fish, rice, soup and spinach.
