Lesson 3: 1,2,3 (page 34) I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge After the lesson, students are able to:

- Pronounce correctly the sound of the letters “ s ” and “sw” . - Listen and read for specific information.

- Develop Ss speaking and listening skills 2. Competencies:

- Self- study

- Co-operation love schools and about daily activities of someone.

- Self-study ability, ability to operate, live responsibly - Communicate English with friends and teacher well -Cooperation: (work in groups/ pairs)

3. Qualities:

- Confident in learning and practice situations

-Educate ss to learn hard and love the subject II. Teaching- aids

III. Procedure:

1.Organization (1) : Greeting and warm up the class

-Tell pupils that they are going to practise saying the sounds of the letters s and sw in the words sing and swim respectively.

- T introduces sound: / s/

- T asks Ss to listen to the cassette.

- Ss: repeat chorally – individually.

- T introduces word: sing.

- T asks Ss to listen to the cassette.

- T asks Ss to find the words have sound /s/

- Ss: answer.

- T aks Ss to read aloud the words that they have just found.

- T introduces the sentence: I can sing?

- T asks Ss to listen to the cassette - Ss: repeat chorally – individually

-T does the same with sw, swim and I can’t swim on the board.

-Get some pupils to perform in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.

- Have Ss read in groups/ in pairs.

* Activity 2 (10’)

- Have Ss look at the part 2 (p. 34)

-T tells pupils that they are going to listen to four sentences with the sounds s and sw and number them.

-Ask them to read the sentences and identify the words with the letters s and sw.

- Ss read the sentence

- Explain the new word swing. Check pupils’

understanding.

-Play the recording for pupils to listen and number the sentences. Remind pupils to focus on the words with the sounds s and sw while listening.

-Play the recording again for them to check their

- Focus their attention on the pics and ask them to identify each activities.

- Ask ps to listen and number the pics. Tell them that they should focus on the order of the dialogues as they hear them

- T plays the recording for Ss to listen for 1st time
