Lesson 1: Part 1-2-3 I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ps will be able to: Use the words and phrases related to the topic Toys.

- Ask and answer questions about toys, using What toys do you like?

2. Warm up :6’

Spend a few minutes revious unit by having the class say the chant Do you have any cats? And sing the song Do you have any pets? Draw ps attension to the title of the unit and check comprehension. Have them repeat it once twice.

3. New lesson

* Activity 1: (7’)

- Tells ps that they are going to practise asking and answing questions about toys. Give a few seconds for pupils to look at the first picture and elicit the name of the characters and what bubbles a few times. Repeat the procedure with the second picture.

- Play the recording for ps to listen and say along.

* Activity 2: (10’)

- Tell ps that they are going to practise asking and answing questions What toy do you like? Give a few seconds for ps to look at the pictures and read the words under the pictures in silence.Elicit the meaning of the words and have ps repeat each of the words a few time. Point to each picture and ask ps to fill the missing words. Puts the question and the answer on the board and have ps repeat each of them a few times.

- Do choral and individual repetition, using the pictures or words as prompts.

- Get ps to word in pairs.

- Check as a class.

*Activity 3:7’

- Tell ps that they are going to practise more with their friends. Using their own words.Give ps a few seconds to look at the picture and check comprehension. Give feedback and elicit the words to fill the bubbles. Put the question and the answers on the board for ps to repeat a few times. Call a pair to give a demonstration before starting the activity.

- Get ps to word in pairs. Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.

- Call a few pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.

* Activity 2: (10’)

- Pre: - Tell ps that they are going to look at and complete the sentences about Nam, Mai, Quan, Phong, Linda and Peter. And the toys they like. Give a few seconds for ps to look at the picture and read the text in silence. Check comprehension and give feedback.

Do the first gap filling as the example. Remind ps to underline the key words when reading the text to use for the answers.

- While: - Give ps time to do the task. Go around to offer help, if necessary.

- ask ps to swap and check their answers before writing the correct answers on the board for ps to copy down into their notebook.

- Do choral repetition of the completed sentences.

- Post: Have the whole class read each line of the dialogues chorally to reinforce their pronunciation.

- Tell pupils that this is a personalized activity in which ps write their answers using real facts. Give ps a few seconds to read the questions in silence. Call one ps to give a demonstration of all questions before starting the activity.

- Tell ps to swap and check their answer before

checking as a class. Call two ps to write their answers on the board and correct the spelling and grammatical errors, if necessary.

Then have ps repeat each a few times. Point to picture a, asking ps to fill in the missing words. Put the question and the answer on the board and have ps repeat each of them a few times.

- Do choral and individual repetition, using the words or picture cards as prompts.

- Get ps to words in pairs. Check as a class.

-Pre: Tell ps that they are going to draw the pet they have or like. Then they will write sentences describing it/ them and give a comprehension of their wirk to the class. Check understanding.

- While: Give ps time to do the project. Encourage them to draw as many pets as possible. If there is not enough time, give the project as homework.

-Post: Have ps work in pair to ask and answer questions about their pets.

Eg: This is my dog. It’s in the gaden. Do you have any pets?

- Have ps sing the song Do you have any pets? And say the chant Do you have any cats? To end the class.
