Lesson 3: Part 1-2-3

I. Objectives: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to gain the following:

1. Knowledge:

introduce one’s friend and respond to the introduction, ask and answer questions about friends. Pronounce the sounds in the letters / a /, /e / correctly.

2. Skills: Developing listening/ speaking/ reading/ writing skill(s).

3. Core competencies & Personal qualities:

Building up interests and good habits in learning English Being collaborative and supportive in teamwork

Building up responsive and independent-working characteristics to be a life-long learner

Demonstrating problem-solving skills through learning activities II. Teaching aids:

1. Teacher’s aids: TV, computer, book, flash card.

2. Students’ aids: Student’s book, notebooks, workbooks.

III. Procedures

Chatting

- T asks Ss to make question and answer about their friends.

2. Presentation (20’)

*Activity 1: Listen and repeat

Play the CD and have Ps repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role.

Focus Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words that and yes

-Introduce the sounds /a / and / e / -Have Ps practice the sounds carefully

-Play the CD and have Ps read the chant in chorus.

-Ask Ps to give which sounds in Vietnamese are similar to, and then have Ps read words after you + Ask some pairs to ask and answer.

+ Have Ps recite the chant and clap the syllable to reinforce their pronunciation.

* Activity 2: Listen and write

- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and fill the blanks. Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner.

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’

comprehension of the listening text.

Demonstrating problem-solving skills through learning activities II. Teaching aids:
