UNIT 12: A VACATION ABROAD

I. Aims of Unit:

- By the end of the Unit, Ss will be able to make a plan using tourist brouches and flight information.

- Ss will be able to develop their speaking skill.

- Ss will be able to practice in listening for specific information about the weather in big city in the world

- Ss will be able to develop their listening and speaking skills

- Ss will be able to obtain some knowledge about some scenic sports in the USA - Ss will be able to develop their reading and speaking skills

- Ss will be able to write postcards to their friends about their trip - Ss will be able to develop their writing skill

- Ss will be able to talk about activities using the Present and Past Progressive tenses - Ss will be able to develop their speaking writing skills

II. Teaching aids:

- Word cues, Chart, drawing, cassette, tape, speaker, chalk, workbook, lesson plan - Text book, pictures, posters, cards, real objects, tape, cassette…

III. Methods:

- Ss work individual to listening and do exercises.

- Work in pairs to ask and answer, development speaking skill. Discuss in groups to complete the passage and write the sentences.

LESSON 1 – GETTING STARTED (Page 111) LISTEN AND READ (Page 112-113) A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to read for details about making plans for a vacation abroad and aware of how to make, accept and decline invitations.

*. Language focus:

a) Vocabulary: read and write the following words correctly: include abroad < to be / go / travel / live >, business meeting, schedule

b) Grammar: using an accept and decline invitation: Would you love to/ You must come over for, Yes, we’d love to but, That’s very kind of you

- Progressive tenses with always. S + be + always + V-ing…

2. Skills:

- Improve the reading skills to know about some expressions, and people’s schedule in the tour.
