Lesson 2: Part 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES

I. Objectives

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

1.Knowledge:

- Ask and answer questions about the about a festival

- Pupils can ask and answer questions about the about a festival.

- identify the situation for conversation through listening and speaking between Mary and Phong about the about a festival

2. Presentation ( 30 mins)

Act 1 : Look, listen and repeat (8’)

Aim: identify the situation for conversation through listening and speaking between Nam andTony about physical appearance.

Input: the dialogue in part 2 on page 26 Picture a, b,c,d

CD Procedure:

- ask pupils to look at the pictures to point at each character and elicit their answers to the questions:

Who’s this? Where are they? What are they doing?

- play the recording for pupils to listen to the tape - play the recording again for them to repeat line by line.

- ask pupils to practice in pairs to act out the dialogue.

- go round and check pupils can repeat and understand the dialogue.

-Introduce the sounds of letter cl - Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words clothes,close Ss learn to produce the sound of the letters “ fl” in these words - Listen and repeat. Read in groups in pairs.

- Ps practice the sounds carefully

- Some Ss reports the answer. The rest of the class listen and give comments.

- Ask ss to find some other words with the sound have learnt.

- Ask ss to practice reading the words and sentences.

*Activity 2.

- Divide class into three groups and chant.
