LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED, LISTEN AND READ

A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, student will be able to know more about Na's new

neighborhood.

1. Knowledge

- Reading the coversation between Nam and Na for details.

- Learning some vocabulary.

2. Skills

- Reading comprehension skill, asking and answering skill - Fill in the gaps with information to complete the sentences.

3. Attitude

- Students know more about someone’s neighborhood and love the life in their neighborhood.

III- New lesson:(35’) Step 1: Pre - reading (8’)

Today, we are going to read the dialogue about Na's new neighborhood. Let's start with some new words.

1. Vocabulary:

Step 2: While - reading (17’)

1. Ask Ss to listen and read silently the dialogue between Nam and Na then ask them if their answers are correct or not . - Give feedback:

- Ask Ss to write a passage about their neighborhood by answering the following questions

- Move around the class and help Ss - Call on some Ss to read their writings aloud - Correct mistakes .

A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, student will be able to ask and talk about how to send parcels or letters.

1. Knowledge

- Ss can talk to a post office clerk about how to send . - Learn some vocabulary.

2. Skills

- Speaking skill, asking and answering skill - Reading the model dialogue for details

- Practice making similar dialogues on how to send parcels or letters at the post office using given words.

3. Attitude

- Students can ask and answer politely when they have coversation at the post office.

+ Have you ever sent a letter or a parcel ?

=> Lead in the new lesson ( today we are going to talk about how to send parcels or letters . Let's start with the new words).

III- New lesson (35’)

Step 1: Pre- speaking (13’) 1.Vocabulary

- letter or parcel sent by air - letter or parcel sent by bus , train or ship

2. Reading comprehension :

- Set the scene “ Mrs Kim wants to send a parcel to Qui Nhon , so she has to go to the post office .”

- Give Ss some questions and ask them to read the dialogue and find out the answers - Get sts to work in pairs to compare their answers.

- Give feedback.

* Practice the dialogue:

- Call on a student to play role of Mrs Kim and practice the dialogue with teacher ( clerk )

- Call on some pairs to practice the dialogue . Correct their pronunciation

- Ask sts to practice the dialogue in pairs.

Step 2: While- speaking (15’) - Set the scene and ask Ss to make the

- Elicit and encourage Ss to make the dialogue themselves

- Get Ss to practice the dialogue in pairs.

- Give Ss some other situations and ask sts make similar dialogues. The box on page 65 will help sts know the price.

- Divide class into 3 groups, each prepares a dialogue .

- Ask Ss to write one of the dialogues they’ve practiced speaking in their notebooks.

Clerk: Can I help you?

Mrs Lan: I want to send a letter to Kontom

Clerk: Do you want to send it airmail or surface mail ?

Mrs Lan: I send it airmail. How much is it ?

Clerk: Let me see. Mmm, 15 grams, it is only 1,200 dongs .

- Ss can listen to a dialogue for details about Na’s plan at the weekend.

- Revise some vocabulary.

2. Skills

- Listening skill, asking and answering skill

- Listening to the dialogue and fill in the missing information in some advertisements, do
