I. OBJECTIVES.

Give two different colored balls to two students, a red ball ( ask the question) and a yellow ball (answer the question).

Have students listen to music and pass the balls.

Stop music.

Have the student with a red ball make a question for the child who has yellow ball. E. How old are you? The child with the yellow ball will answer his/ her friend’s question. E. g. I’m (seven).

* Option 2: Conversation Lines

Have students stand in parallel lines facing each other.

Have students work in pairs.

 Student A asks: “ How old are you?”

 Student B answers: “ I’m (seven).

2. Presentation (30’)

Arrange the flashcards on the board, play audio and point to each flashcard. Have students listen.

Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books.

Play audio again and have students listen and repeat. 

Have one student go to the board and play the role of a teacher, point to the picture and have the others repeat.

Optional activities:

* Option 1:  Heads up. What's missing?

Divide the class into two teams.

Arrange the flashcards on the board and remove one card  when students are not looking.

One student from each team calls out the missing flashcard.

* Option 2: Flyswatter

Write “ banana, cookie, sandwich” on the board.

Divide the class into four teams. Have one student from each team come to the board holding a flyswatter.

Read a word aloud, e.g. “banana” . Have students race to the board and hit the word with the flyswatter. The winner is the one who hits the correct word first.

Play until everyone in the class has had at least one turn.

B- Listen and point. (10’) CD2- Track 27

Introduce the situation: The family are at the park. Ben says, “ I want a cookie.”

Play audio and have students look at the picture.

Play audio. Have students listen and repeat.

Demonstrate the activity by pointing to the new vocabulary items.

Play audio. Have students listen and point.

Have students work in pairs. Student A says, “ I want (a cookie).” Student B says, “Me too”. or “ I want (a sandwich).”

C- Sing. (5’) CD2- Track 28

Have students turn to page 50.

Read the lyrics as a whole class.

Play audio and have students listen.

Play audio again and have students listen and sing along.

Wrap-up (5’)

* Option 1: Feely Bag Put some pictures in a bag.

Have children sit in a circle.

Play some music and ask children to pass the bag from one child to the next around the circle.

Stop the music suddenly. The child who has the bag when the music stops feels a picture in the bag and says “ I want a (cookie).” Then the child pulls the picture out of the bag to see if he/she was correct.

Play the music and continue in this way until several children have had a turn.

* Option 2: Missing letters

Divide the class into three teams.

Write three words on the board, each missing a letter.

Have one student from each team come up and try to fill in the missing letters then make sentences with three words given. The first team with the most correct letters and sentences is the winner.

3. Application (3’)

- Say about the food they have learn in the lesson ad how to say about the food in the thing.

4. Summary (2’)

- Divide the class into four teams.

- Draw the hangman board and draw blank spaces for the word the teacher wants them to guess.

- Have each team guess a letter.

- If students guess it correctly, they get one point for each letter in the word. If students get it wrong, then teacher draws a head, body, 2 legs and, 2 arms.

- When the teacher draws all the parts of the body the game is over, and the teacher starts a new game.

The winner is the one with the most points at the end of the last puzzle.

- Have students call out the things they see.

I. OBJECTIVES.

1. Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, students will be able to identify and use the following vocabulary items and grammatical structures to ask and answer about types of transportation.

- Prepare some flashcards about clothes.

- Hold up a flashcard covered by a big piece of paper or a piece of cloth.

- Slowly reveal the flashcard.

- The child shouts out when they know what the word is.

- If he/she says the correct word, he/she will get one point for his/her team. Then he/she asks one student from his/her team with that word. (E.g. pants?). His/her friend answers this question.

- Continue the game as the same way.

2. Presentation (30’)

- Use some pictures to introduce the new words (bus, boat, plane, motorbike). Ask students if they know these means of transportation.

- Have students listen to each new word.

- Arrange the flashcards on the board, play audio, and point to each flashcard.

- Play audio again and have students point to the pictures in their books.

- Play audio again and have students listen and repeat.

- Have students work in pairs, one of them points to the picture in the book and the other says the word.

Option 1:

"Guess" game

- Arrange the flashcards on the board and write a number under each card.

- Have students look at the flashcards for the count of ten. Turn the flashcards over to face the board when the students are not looking.

- Call out a number of one of the flashcards and have students take turns to guess the face-down card. Turn the card over after each guess.

Option 2:

“Follow the leader” game

- Have students line up behind the teacher and follow him/her around the classroom.

Wrap up Option 1

"Pass the card" game

- Divide the class into four teams.

- Have students from each team stand in a line.

Give the first student of each team a card (bus, boat, plane, motorbike) and say "Go."

- These students say the corresponding words and pass the cards over their heads to the ones behind them.

- Have teams continue the game until their card reaches the last person.

- The last student in each line races to hand their card to the teacher and says the word.

- Give the first team to name their card correctly one point.

- The team that gets the most points wins.

Option 2

“Run, Draw and Write” game - Divide the class into four groups.

- Have students stand in four lines.

- Say a word. (E.g. plane)

- Have the first student in each line run to the board, draw the object and write the word.

Focus Ss’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words fan and cup - Introduce the sounds /a/ and /u/      

- Have Ss practice the sounds carefully

- Play the CD and have Ss read the chant in chorus.

Activity 2. Listen and write (10’)

Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank.

- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and fill the blanks. Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner.  

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T give the answer:

- Have pupils act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction.

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

Activity 3. Let’s chant (10’)

Tell Ss that they are going to say the chant.

Have them read the chant and check comprehension.

Play the recording all through Ss listen and  follow in their books.

Play the recording again Ss listen and  read line by line.

Divide the class into2 groups .G1: read the questions, G2: read the answers.

Then exchange.

When they are familiar with the rhythm, show them how to say the chant and do the actions.

Get groups  of Ss to sit face to face and practice chanting and doing the actions. Get around and offer help, if necessary..

I. OBJECTIVES

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Practise talking about the quantity of things.    

- Read and circle the correct words completing the sentences.

- Read and complete the gapped paragraph, using the picture. 

- Interview friends and complete the table.

-Tell the class that they are going to read the sentences and choose the best answer.

-Get them to identify the information given.

+ While- reading

- Set a time limit for pupils to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.

- Have them compare their answers before checking.

+ Post- reading

-Ask some ss to read aloud the full sentences.

Activity 5. Read and write (10’) + Pre- writing

- Tell the class that they are going to answer some questions about the rooms in the house.

- Give them time to think about what to write.

( T can help ss if necessary) + While- writing

- Set a time limit for them to do the task independently. Monitor the activity and offer help, if necessary.

- Remind them to write the first letter of each sentence and the name in capital letters, and put commas and full stops at the right places.

+Post- writing

- Get them to swap and read their writing in pairs before inviting two or three pupils to read their answers aloud.

Activity 6. Project (10’) Introduce the situation.

- Explain how to do the exercise: Interview their friends and complete the table using the structure:

How many … are there? – There are/ There is….

- Ss act out in front of the class. The rest listen to and give the remark. Correct the pronunciation 3. Summary. (2’)
