(P. 23 - 24) A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to write a telephone message.

2. Skills:

- Jumbler words, Gap-filling, brainstorming, T / F statement prediction, write it up …

*. Living skill:

- Students are aware of the value of the product and appreciate the product, especially the school supplies.

- Ability to cooperate with friends to complete the objectives of the lesson.

*. Language contents:

a) Grammar:

- Simple present & simple past tense (Revision).

b) Vocabulary:

- Adjective: stationary.

- Nouns: furniture delivery, midday, rackets, service.

- Verbs: pick someone up, reach.

3. Attitudes:

- Enthusiastic about giving constructive speech, understanding and grasping the writing style of messages.

4. Knowledge to achieve:

a) Meet the standards; Students need to understand the content of the message and then fill in the blanks to complete the passage after the teacher guides with prompting questions.

b) Advanced; Good students can go home and reread the lesson and write messages based on information from the passage.

II. Warm up: (05’) Playing game: Find a word.

- Getting Ss to find a word with the cue given.

a. It contains 7 letters.

b. You will leave it. In case, you phone someone who is out.

- Asking 2 groups of Ss to play game.

- Giving comment. (Date, time, who sent, to whom, - T gives some questions for Ss content).

A customer phoned/telephoned the Thang Loi Delivery Service on May 12 just before midday . She wanted to speak to Mr Ha but he was out. So Mr Tam took a message for Mr Ha. The customer’s name was Mrs. Lien and she wanted to know about her furniture delivery. She wanted Mr Ha to call her. She said Mr Ha could reach her number 8645141 after lunch . - Ask Ss to read the passage 2 to get information and write the message.

- Let Ss write individually then share with a partner.

- Call on some Ss to read their answers - Correct and give feedback.

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to further practice talking about intentions with "be going to" and further practice in adverbs of places.

2. Skills:

- Work in pairs to practice with structure “be going to”

- Do exercises individual.

- Ask Ss to do exercise 1 . They have to work with a partner and say what the people are going to do

- T models two cues then asks Ss to repeat chorally then individually

- T asks Ss to practice - Ss work in pairs Hangs the table of questions about things Ss are going to do in the future.

Ss: Look at the table and complete

"You" column with checks () if you are going to do and cross (x) if you are not.

- T asks some students to practice in front of the class

- "Will" is used to express an intention, that is decided at the moment.

- "Be going to" is used to express an intention, that were decided before talking.

LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED - LISTEN AND READ (P. 27, 28) A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to understand the dialogue between Nam and his mother and use modal verbs to talk about the housework.

2. Language contents:

a. Grammar: Review:

* Reflexive pronouns

* Modal verbs: must, have to, ought to * Preposition of position

b. Vocabulary: Steamer, saucepan, frying pan, rice cooker, grandma, cupboard, yourself.

*. Life skills education:

- Through the lesson h/s can know how to manage their time reasonably. Allocate time for each specific task.

Set goals for each task and take responsibility for those tasks.

3. Attitudes:

- Eagerly speaking to build lessons, consciously helping parents do some housework.

4. Knowledge to achieve:

- Understand the basic information about the content of the housework given in the lesson.

II. Warm up: (05 minutes) Kim's game - T shows 6 pictures (in Getting started) to students.

- T asks them to look at 6 pictures quickly in 30 seconds and try to remember the verbs in the pictures as many as possible.

- Then each team goes to the board - one by one - and writes down the activities in the pictures. The team remembering more verbs is the winner.

- Expected answers:

a. Wash dishes/ do the washing up b. Make the bed

c. Sweep the floor d. Cook e. Tidy up

III. New lesson: (38’)
