- Communicative approach.
Techniques:+ Work individually, in pairs/ groups.
IV. PROCEDURE 1. Organization:
- Greetings: T – Ss greet each other.
- Checking attendance: Who’s absent today? Ss: Answer Class

2. Warm up: (5’)
- Show the words the students have learnt so far on the screen. Give the students 3 minutes to remember the words. Turn off the screen
- Divide the class into small teams
- Then put teams’ lists up the board
- The team with the most correct words wins the activity 3. New lesson:

Activity 1: Say the words. Circle the beginning sound. (7’) Click Review 1 and part 1
Click on the apple picture and have students repeat and circle the correct letter.
Repeat for all pictures.
Have students come and click on the correct letters to check answers Activity 2: What’s next? Write. (7’)
Click on part 2
Read the letters in the first question and elicit what comes next The students read the letters and write the correct letter in their boxes Go around and provide any necessary help
Have students come and click on the letter and the white circle to check answers Activity 3: Write the beginning letter (5’)
Click on part 3
Ask the students to name the items, the letters and the sounds
Ask them to write the beginning letter (upper case) that corresponds to each picture Go around and provide any necessary help
Click on the letters to show the answers Activity 4: Draw. (5’)
Click on part 4
Refer the students to the upper and lower case letters in the grid as well as the sentences below it Click on the ball. Ask students where it should go. Click on box Cc to move the ball.
Have students draw the ball in box Cc.
Have students read the other sentences and draw the objects in the boxes.
Go around and provide any necessary help
Have students come and click on the object and boxes to check answers.
Play game: Bingo ( 6’)
Write the words the students have learnt in the units on the board
Ask students to choose any five and copy them in their notebooks (make sure they haven’t all chosen the same five words)
Call out one word after another and point to it on the board.
Any students who has that word can cross it off
The winner is the first student who crosses out all their words and shouts

Activity: What’s the picture?
Invite a student to come to the front of the class and whisper the name of a vocab item.
The student does some actions for the rest of the class to guess what it is
- The first student to guess the object correctly comes to the front of the class to do actions for the next pictures

Activity 1: Colouring the pictures that start with the letter Aa. – Activity book- page 37 (8’) Elicit the letters and their sounds
e.g. letter A says /æ/
Show the students how to write the letter stroke by stroke and have them do it in their book.
Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item e.g. A - /æ/ - ant
Ask the students to colour the pictures
Ask students to write the names of the 4 vocab items
Activity 2: Colouring the pictures that start with the letter Bb. – Activity book- page 39 (6’) Elicit the letters and their sounds
e.g. letter B says /b/
Show the students how to write the letter stroke by stroke and have them do it in their book.
Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item e.g. B - /b/ - ball
Ask the students to colour the pictures
Ask students to write the names of the 4 coloured items
Activity 3: Colouring the pictures that start with the letter Cc. – Activity book- page 41 (8’) Elicit the letters and their sounds
e.g. letter C says /k/
Show the students how to write the letter stroke by stroke and have them do it in their book.
Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item e.g. C - /k/ - cat
Ask the students to colour the pictures
Ask students to write the names of the 4 vocab items
Activity 4: Colouring the pictures that start with the letter Dd. – Activity book- page 43 (8’) Elicit the letters and their sounds
e.g. letter D says /d/
Show the students how to write the letter stroke by stroke and have them do it in their book.
Point to each picture and elicit the letter, the sound and the name of the item e.g. D - /d/ - dog
