Lesson 1: ( 1, 2) I. Aims I. Objective:

1. Knowledge:

- use the words and phrases related to the topics Introduction.

- By the end of this lesson, students have to greet someone formally + Sentence Patterns: Revision  

+ Vocabulary: Revision  

2. Skills: Develop listening and speaking skills 3. Core competencies & Personal qualities - Communication

- Self- study

- Apply what they have learned to solve learning tasks.

II. Teaching aids:

T: Pictures, books, recording, computer.

SS: Ss’ book, notebook III. Procedures. ( 35’

Teacher’s and Students’ activities Contents 1. Warm up (5 mins)

- Say hello to the class and introduce yourself, using Hello, I’m Thuy.

Lead in the new lesson: Unit 1 - Lesson1(1.2) 2. Presentation ( 30 mins)

Activities 1: 7'

*. Look, listen and repeat.

- Ask Ss to open their book on page 6.

- Ask Sts the name of the characters - Use a poster to present the context - Play the recording twice

- Ask Ss to repeat a few times.

- Call on two pairs to play roles - Ask Ss to practice in pairs - Call some pair to perform

Have the whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation

Teacher’s and Students’ activities Contents 1.Warm up (5 mins)

Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by calling some pupils to the front of

the class to sing the song Good 

morning to you. The class may sing the song, clapping hands.

2. Presentation ( 30 mins) Activities 1 :7'

1.Look, listen and repeat.

- Introduce picture and ask some questions about the situations in the picture:

+ Who are they in the picture?

- Tell the that they are going to practise saying and responding to  Good morning,   Miss   Hien.   I'm   ...I'm a ... 

- Check understanding.

- Procedure the first picture and explain what they say.

- Repeat the procedure with the second picture.

- T plays the recording through for Ss to listen to the dialogue.

- T plays the recording again, pausing after each line for Ss to repeat.

- T divides the class into two groups:

one group to repeat Miss Hien and the Mai’s part.

- Call on Ss to practise in front of the class.

- Correct, remark.

Activities 2: 10' 2. Point and say.

a. New words.

- Using pictures to present the words:

- See: gặp

- tomorrow: ngày mai - later : sau

- meet: gặp - again : lại

- England: nước Anh.

b. Model sentences

* Practice

  -  Ask Ss about what they fill in the blanks.

- Tell ps that they are going to practise saying :

- Draw ps’ attention to the pictures.

- Point to each character in the picture and elicit his/her name.

- Write the whole sentences on the board.

- Have ps repeat the sentences a few times.

- Repeat the procedure with the second picture.

- Ask ps work in groups, pairs.

- Call some pairs practice in front of the class.

- Check ss’ mistake when necessary.

Activities 3:10’

* Let’s talk.

- Look at the picture and introdure.

- Tell them that they are going to practise more with their friends, using their own names.

- In pairs students introduce their name the same in the book.

- Have some Ss make a dialogue with their true names.

- Call Ss work in pairs.

- Do as example if the Ss don’t understand.

- look the pic and then work in pairs with the name of pic before class.

- Teacher give the correct answer.

Spend a few minutes revising Good  morning/Good afternoon/Good evening  and See you  tomorrow/See you later. Get pupils to do a dictation, using the phrases learnt in the previous lessons.

Follow the procedure in Activities Bank in Introduction. Pupils can play the game Bingo if there is enough time

- Have Ss open the book page10, draw their attention to the letters colored

differently in the words Hello, Linda      and

- Produce the sound of the letter l and n - Have Ss repeat the focused sounds a few times.

- Play the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat

- Monitor the activity and offer help when necessary/ correct typical pronunciation errors.

- Call on someone to pronounce

- Have the whole class recite the chant to reinforce their pronunciation.

Activities 2:10’

* Listen and circle.

- Have Ss look at the sentences on page 10 - Ask Ss what they have to do in this sentences.

- Play the tape twice

- Ask them to listen and write the answers - Call someone to write on the board, check Ss’ notebook

- Check and correct mistakes - Ask Ss to read aloud 2 sentences Activities 3: 7’

* Let's chant

- Show the chart of the chant Hello, friends!

- Play the tape a few times.

- Ask Ss to read aloud each line in the song and clap their hands

- Ask them to listen again and repeat - Have Ss practice the chant in pairs - Call each group, then pairs to perform - Correct and comment

- Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation
