UNIT 3: A TRIP TO THE COUNTRYSIDE LESSON 5: WRITE

(Page 26 – 27) A. Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- The end of this lesson, Ss will continue about topic “countryside” talking about a trip to the countryside. Through the writing, Ss will review some structures and some games or activities in the country as Blind man’s bluff, what song is it?

*. Language content:

a) Vocabulary:

- blanket (n), lay out, gather, site (n) b) Grammar:

- Review some tenses: The past simple tense.

2. Skills:

- Practice write the story as the pictures.

*. Giáo dục kĩ năng sống:

- Luyện tập qua bài viết về tính kiên trì, kiên định với công việc, dù có khó khăn cũng quyết tâm hoàn thành mục đích đã đề ra.

- Mỗi công việc cần đưa ra mục tiêu và đảm nhận trách nhiệm với mục tiêu mà mình đã đề ra.

- Hiểu được những công việc trong quá khứ và có thể kể lại cho người khác biết những việc đã làm trong quá khứ.

3. Attitudes:

- Write about the picnic to the country. Look at the pictures, guessing the activities then tell the story.

II. Warm up: (06’) GAP FILL

- T checks two Ss

- Ss give the keys on the board.

Sentence/ used/ events/ happened/ organized.

- Narration is a kind of writing in which you report events ( i.e. you tell someone about something that happened). Narration is used in many different situations. A narration paragraph is usually organized in chronological (time) order. That mean the exact name and place are introduced right in the topic sentence and the detail are written in the same order that really happened.

- T corrects and gives marks.

- T says “As we know, narration writing is very familiar in English. In this period, we will future practice this kind of writing “

- T asks Ss to look at the pictures in book and the information given.

- T gives new words on the board, Ss guess meaning of new words and take note.

4. POST – WRITING : ( 10’) - T reads new words twice - Ss listen carefully and repeat.

- T reviews new words by playing “ Rub out and remember”

- T says “ Now you look at the pictures and the information given, write a passage entitled “ A country Picnic”

- T divides class into 5 small groups, every group writes one picture. The every group gives the writing passage on the board

- T corrects.

- Ss take note

decided to go on a picnic. We took a bus to the countryside and then we walked about 20 minutes to the picnic site next to the river. We put down the blankets and laid out the food after meal we played the games “What song is it?” and “blind man’s bluff”. Late in the

afternoon we went fishing. We enjoyed our picnic. When we look at the time, it was nearly 6.30pm. We hurriedly gathered out things and ran to the bus stop. We were lucky to catch the last bus and we arrived home very late that evening.

Lan : Hi, Nam. Have a good weekend?

Nam : Yes, I took a trip to the countryside.

1. Knowledge:

- Further practice in the past simple with “Wish”. Practice in prepositions of time and adverb clauses of result. Ss will review sentence “wish” with “could” and adverb clauses of result “so”.

*. Language content:

a) Vocabulary: natural landscapes, location, direction, outing activities.

b) Grammar: - Modals: could, would ( review ) - Prepositions of time

- Adverb clause of result: so ( to talk about the result of an action ) 2. Skills:

- Review the structures and grammar in Unit 3.

- Practice speaking skill, listening, ask and answer and writting

a) Đạt chuẩn: - Học sinh ở mức độ trung bình cũng phải nắm được cấu trúc câu có từ ước nguyện với thời quá khứ để ước nguyện cho chính bản thân mình.

b) Nâng cao: - Học sinh ở mức độ khá giỏi thì phải sử dụng thành thạo câu ước nguyện, tập viết bài trong đó có cả “Adverb clause of result”.

- Ss work in group ( every group is one sentence ). Then Ss give the key on the board.

- T corrects and gives the right answer.

- Ss take note.

- T says “ Look at Mr Thanh’s itinerary for his business trip to Singapore. Base on the information in the itinerary, you complete the sentences by using the prepositions in the box”

3. Activity 3: ( 10’) - Ss work in close pairs.

- Ss give the answer on the board - T corrects
