Lesson 4.Read ( 87).

A. Objectives

By the end of this lesson, Ss will be able to practice reading a text to get more knowledge about a space strip .

* Attitude: Help Ss to be more confident to communicate with others and in learning English.

* Skill: Practice reading skill B. Teaching aids

T's preparation:Text books ,teacher book ,poster.

Ss' preparation: text book, notebook, homework C. Methods

- Communicative approach. Practice(Chatting, Ordering statement, discussion.) - T – W.C , pair work , group work, individual

II. Warm up *Chatting:

T prepares some pictures of a spaceship or of the first travel of man to the moon.

Ask them some questions to involve ss in the topic of lesson -Do you want to travel?

Have you ever traveled in our country or aboard?

-Have you ever dreamed of a trip to space?

-Do you want to be an astronaut?

-Do you think traveling into space take a lots of money?

III. New lesson Step 1. Pre reading.

a. Vocabulary.

have ss read the text again and work in pairs to answer the questions on p.87

T introduces some vocabulary using pictures, explanation and translation.

Ss listen and repeat. Then copy down the words

T reads each word 3 times

T writes on board and asks Ss the meanings and the mark stress T checks by Ro & Re

Give feedback-

Ss read the text and check their guess.

T asks Ss to answer the questions ( P87 Ss do in individual

Call on some ss answer the question loudly Step 3. Post reading.

*Discussion:

“If you were able to take a space trip, what would you do to prepare for a trip . What would you like to bring a long?”

Give ss the topic of the discusion Divide the class in to 4 groups and discuss in groups
