3. The way of usage “For” and “Since”

+ For: nói đến khoảng thời gian (Được bao lâu) +Since: nói đến môc thời gian ( Từ khi nào) Eg: I have English for 10 years.

d. Cách thêm đuôi ed:

- Thông thường V + ed (walk – walked) - V có tận cùng la e + d (live – lived) - V có tận cùng là y:

- Nếu trước y là 1 nguyên âm + ed (play – played)

- Nếu trước y là một phụ âm biến y  i + ed (try – tried, study –studied)

- V một vần, tận cùng bằng 1 phụ âm trước khi + ed(stop – stopped, plan – planned)

- V có 2 vần, trọng âm ở vần hai mà tận cùng là 1 phụ âm, trước là 1 nguyên âm, ta gấp đôi phụ âm trước khi thêm ed (omit – omitted, permit – permitted )

e. Cách phát âm đuôi ed:

1. /t/: khi đứng sau : /p, k, f, s/

a. Sự kiện đã xảy ra và cham dứt hoàn toan trong quá khứ b. Sự kiện trong quá khứ với thời gian được xác định.

Trong câu thường có: yesterday, last, ago (cách đây), first (lần đầu tiên),in 1998, ….
