1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to use the present perfect tense and the passive by doing a variety of exercises.

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use “already” and “yet” in the present perfect tense, distinguish the difference between the past simple and the present perfect tense; and be able to use the passive form of the present perfect, simple present, simple past and simple future; practice passive model auxiliaries.

A- Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- Practice in listening skill, structures and grammar for the midterm test.

- Further practice in used to and compare between used to and be/get used to

- Help Ss be able to catch the usage of past with “Wish” and apply them for exercises - By the end of the lesson pupils will be able to use the present perfect tense and the passive by doing a variety of exercises.

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to use already and yet in the present perfect tense, distinguish the difference between the past simple and the present perfect tense; and be able to use the passive form of the present perfect, simple present, simple past and simple future; practice passive model auxiliaries.

* Set the scene:

- Let’s make the conversation the same conversation between Tan and Phong.

They are talking about what Ba did on the weekend.

* Model sentences:

- Elicit the model sentences from Ss.

? (Wh) + did + S + verb (infinitive)...?

Use: Use in the past tenses.

2. The present perfect tense: (06’)

The present perfect is used to talk about something which started in the past and continues up to the present.

FOR + a period of time.

SINCE + a point of time.

We often use FOR and SINCE with the present perfect tense.

3. The passive voice: (06’)

- Ask Ss to work in pairs to ask and answer questions about what Ba, Lan, Nam and Hoa did on the weekend.

E.g. Nga

S1: What did Nga do on the weekend?

S2: She went to see a concert performed by Hanoi singers.

S1: When did she go?

S2: She went to see it on Saturday afternoon at 8 pm.

Form: I wish + S + verb (Past simple)...

Use: Talk about the wish in present.

2. Be used to: talk about the acquaintance with something or doing sth little by little Form: S + be/get + used to + N/V-ing.

Meaning: quen với, thích nghi với

Use: diễn tả sự quen dần, thích nghi dần với một điều gì, một việc gì

Eg: We are used to getting up early.
