LESSON 4: WRITE (P. 15) A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to write a paragraph about their close friends. Ss will be able to write about themselves and other people.

2. Language focus:

a. Grammar: Review present simple tense: S + be + adj of character S + has + N

b. Vocabulary: (n) appearance, character, (a) humorous

II. New lesson:

1. Setting the scene: Included in the WARM-UP 2. Main activities:

Teacher’s and students’ activities On the board WARM UP: (05 minutes)

- T asks students to look at the pictures on P. 17 quickly and then lets them keep their books closed.

- T divides the class into 4 groups, gives them 2 questions, the group which answers correctly and the fastest wins the game.

- T elicits vocabulary and models 3 times for the class to repeat.

- T asks Ss to read the information about Tam then answer some questions

- Ss give answers a. What is his name?

b. How old is he?

c. What does he look like?

d. What is he like?

d. Where does he live?

f. Who does he live with?

g. Who are his friends?

Kim's game:

+ How many people are there in the picture?

+ What is each person wearing?

Expected answers:

- The woman is wearing a red shirt and a green skirt.

1. PRE – WRITING (12’ ) I. Vocabulary:

II. Read the information about Tam and answer the following questions:

- T lets Ss write a paragraph about Tam, using the information they have just got.

II. Write about one of your friends - Get Ss to share with their partners and correct if possible .

LESSON 5: LANGUAGE FOCUS (P. 16, 17) A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to use simple present tense to talk about general truths and listen to complete the dialogue, using the structure “ (not) + adjectives enough + to infinitive .

*. Language focus:

a) Grammar:

- Simple present tense: To talk about general truths. Revise: Past simple tense - S + Be + (not) Adj + Enough + To-Infinitive

b) Vocabulary: - Adjective: silly.

- Nouns: earth, east, Mars, Mercury, moon, planet, west.

- Verbs: move, rise, set.

2. Skills:

- Do exercise in the book use the structures of unit.

- Change the Verbs from present to the past.
