LESSON 1- ( PART 4-5-6) I.AIMS

1. Knowledge: After the lesson, students are able to:

- Ask and answer questions about school events.

Vocabulary: Sports Day, look for, sport day, gym, take part in, Independence Day, Children’s day, swim, table tennis, contest, festival.

Sentence patterns: When will…be? – It’ll be on

3.Attitude:-In this lesson, studious and obedient students and love their hometown, family and friends.

Tell the class that they are going to read and match the questions with answers

Give a few seconds for Ss to look at the pictures.

- Ask Ss to read the text.

How many questions are there ? What are they talking about?

- Ask Ss to read individually silently and match the sentences.

- Go around to offer help if necessary.

- Ask Ss to read their answers aloud to the class.

- Divide class into 4 groups. Call on a pupil of each group to go to the board to express the sports in the pictures by gestures in turn. The rest of class gives answer. The group has more right answer wins the game.

- Play the game in group.

- Stick the picture on the board and get Ss to read names of sports in chorus.

- Ask Ss to identify the names of sports and event in each picture.

Others compare the answer with the partner.

- Play the recording again for pupils to check their answers.

Activity 5: Write about you (10') - Explain the request of the task for Ss.

- Have pupils read four questions given.

- Stick the paper of the task on the board. Explain the questions Ss may not know and give

suggestions for each one.

- Give handouts of each question for 4 pairs to write their answer and show them on the board.

- Check answer with class.

- Ask pupils to read the dialogue in pairs.

- Call on some pairs to read aloud Activity 6:Let’s play (10')

Tell pupils that they are going to play the game Pass the secret.

- Divide class into two groups of ten. Ask Ss to line up in two rows. Show the sentence “We are going to play badminton” to the first pupil in each row. The first pupil then whispers the

sentence to the second one. The last student in the rows says aloud the sentence she/ he heard. The group that says the sentence correctly in the shortest time wins the game. Ask Ss to play the game.

Activity 3: Let’s chant (10') . Show the chart of the chant “ Play the tape a few times

Ask Ss to read aloud each line in the song and clap their hands

Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to do choral repetition.

Get pupils to practise chanting and doing actions in groups.

- Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do actions: one group chants the questions and the other chants the answers. The rest of the class claps their hands along to the rhythm.

Play the tape once to reinforce their pronunciation
