ADVERB CLAUSES OF CONCESSION

I. Objectives: After finishing the lesson, students should be able to use the tenses.

- Consolidate the usage of the present simple, past simple, future simple - Develop writing skill.

II. Language content:

A. Vocabulary: unit 6 (textbook- English 9) B. Structures: adverb clauses of result III. Teaching aids and method:

- Teaching aids: textbook, workbook, exercise books…

A. Presentation:

- T reviews the structures

- T asks Ss to look at the extra board.

- T gives some examples.

- Ss listen and repeat.

- Ss copy the notes.

1.Adverb clause of concession:

Là mệnh đề trạng ngữ chỉ sự nhượng bộ bắt đầu các liên từ: though, even though, although (mặc dù) chỉ sự tương phản hay sự trái ngược giữa hai mệnh đề.

S +V+ though / even though/ although + S + V Although it was very bad, we had a picnic.

(Dù thời tiết rất xẩu, chúng tôi vẫn đi dã ngoại.)

B. Practice:

-T gives the task and asks Ss to do it.

- T guides how to choose the best option.

- Ss do the exercises (oral - written).

- Ss practice in groups.

- T gives feedback and keys.

- Some Ss read aloud their answers.

I. Join two sentences into one, use “though, even though, although”

1. He is very rich. He isn’t happy.

→ Although he is very rich, he isn’t happy.

2. His life is hard. He determined to study well.
