LESSON 3 : Listen 1. Aims:

- Listen for specific information to choose the correct pictures.

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to listen for specific information to choose the correct pictures.

2. Practice skill:

- Practice listening skill and writing skill.

3. The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge: listen for specific information to choose the correct pictures.

+ Advanced knowledge: Answer some questions and recall the text.

4. Basic language: - Vocabulary: pond, grass, hamburger.

- The tense: simple present tense, past simple 5. Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to practice listening . B. Teaching- aids:

- Ask Sts to look at the pictures and tell the class what there is in each one, where the place is, what the people are doing.

- Ask Sts look at the pictures (a, b and c) and guess the numbers of the pictures .

Step 2: While - listening 1. Listen and Check

- Ask listen to the tape twice and correct the predictions.

- Give feedback.

2. Questions and Answers :

- Ask Sts to read the questions then work in pairs to answer the questions.

- Play the tape once more to check the answers.

- Read the text for details about Malaysia, one of the country in ASEAN

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will have some knowledge about Malaysia, one of the countries of the ASEAN.

2. Practice skill:

- Practice comprehension reading skill . 3. The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge: Read the text for details about Malaysia, one of the country in ASEAN

+ Advanced knowledge: read and fill the information in the table, interview about Malaysia..

4. Basic language:

- Vocabulary: divide, separate, comprise, tropical climate, official, Language of instruction.

- The tense: simple present tense, pasive of simple present tense.

5. Attitude:

- Help ss to have good consciousness in order to read the text for details. . B. Teaching- aids:

* Hangman :

- Set the scene: “Imagine you are visiting your relatives or friends in another part of Viet Nam or a different country”.

Hang a poster on the board with questions - Run through the questions

- Ask students on their own answer the following questions:

1. Where are you now? How did you get there?

2. Who did you meet?

3. What have you done?

- What places have you visited?

- Who hve you met?

- What kinds of food have you tried?

- What souvenir have you bought?

4. How do you feel now?

5. What do you think interest you most?

6. When are you returning home?

- Ask two or three students to tell the class about their visit.

- Ask work in pairs to talk to each other about their visit.

- Remind students about the format of a personal letter by asking the question: What are the parts of a personal letter?

Step 2. While - writing

- Ask Sts to write a letter to their family, telling them about their visit.

- Ask Sts to look at the outline on page 11 and ask them what part of the letter they are going to write. ( body of the letter )

- Ask Sts to follow the outline to write their own letter.

- Ask them to swap their letters, compare with their partner’s, and correct if they can.

- Suggested ideas:

Third paragraph:

I feel so happy and enjoy myself so much. The people here are so nice and friendly, the foods are so delicious and the sights are so beautiful.

I will leave Da Nang at 2 am/ 7

pm...next Thursday? Sunday..and will arrive home at 11 pm/ 5 am...Please pick me up at the airport/ bus station/

train station.
