I. AIMS.

1. Knowledge: By the end of this lesson, Ps will be able to listen and tick the correct pictures; read and complete

IV. PROCEDURE:

I. Warm up: (5’)

Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by inviting one or two pairs to act out the story in Activity 1

Work in pair of two.

II. New lesson: (30’) 4. Listen and tick: (8’) a. Pre-listening:

- T looks at the books and sets the scence:

How many colums are there?

How many places are there?

- Ask Ps to look at each colums and guess questions: Where ‘s the museum? Where ‘s the supermarket? Where the bus stop?

Where’s the post office?

- Tell Ps that they are going to listen and tick the correct boxes.

- Have pupils look at the boxes to identify the each place and where.

b. While-listening:

- Play the recording all the way through for Ps to

a. Pre - reading:

- Ask Ps to look at the Activity 5 p 41.

- Call a students read the sentences.

- Ask Ps to look at the map and help them to identify their names..

- T asks: How many sentences are there?(5) - Ask a student to read words in the yellow box.

b. While- reading:

- Ask Ps to read the sentences and fill the gaps with between, on the corner, opposite, next to.

- Remind them to focus on the map to select the appropriate words from the box.

- Get them to compare their answers in pairs before checking as a class. If there is enough time , have the class read the completed text aloud.

- Tell the class that they are going to sing Where

‘s the bus stop - Have them read the lyrics and teach the unfamiliar words. Check their comprehension.

- Play the recording all the way through for Ps to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to repeat line by line.

- When the class are familiar with the melody, ask them to sing along with the music before having them practise singing and doing actions in groups - Invite a group to sing the song and do actions.

- Spend a few minutes having the class sing Where’s the bus stop?

Ps sing the song. A group does actions.

II. New lesson: (31’)

1. Look, listen and repeat. (12’)

- Tell the class that they are going to read a story . - Have them look at the pictures and guess what the story is about. Check their comprehension by pointing at each picture to elecit their answers to these questions: Who are they? Where are they?

what are they talking about? Where do Tony and Akio want to go?How can they get there?9 Akio and Tony want to go the zoo. In picture a, Akio asks How can we get to the zoo, Nam?and Nam answer You can take a bus. In pictures b, c and d, Nam tells them where the bus stop is and which bus to take )

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen, and point to the appropriate line in their books.

- Play the recording again for pupils to repeat the lines in the speech bubbles. Repeat the step a few times.

- Practice with ps.

- Devide the class into 2 groups. Asks practice in pairs.

- Go round and check ps can repeat and understand the dialogue.

2. Point and say: (14’)

a. Vocabulary : Entrance, take a boat, take a coach, go by plane

- Have Ps look at the pictures. Teach them how to read the words and phrases under each picture:

- Invite a few Ps to act out their exchange in front of class. Then give feedback.

Giving Direction

- Tell the class that they are going to play Giving direction. Tell them that the aim of the game is to give the directions..

- Explain how to play the game: aks Ps to word in groups of five. One P is the leader and each of the other four holds a word card with part of a

sentence, such as: Don’t/ play with matches/ ride too fast/ run down the stairs/ You may/ get a burn/

fall off your bike/ break your leg. The leader say s aloud two sentences and the other four have to stand in a line, holding the word cards to make the two sentences.

- Set a time limit for the groups to play game.

Monitor the activity.

- Call on two groups to play the game in front of the class. Remember to praise pupils who do well.

Look at the sentences.

Answer T’s questions.

IV. PROCEDURE:

- Spend a few minutes revising the previous lesson by having the class play Spelling bee with words such as: don’t, play, ride, knife, stove, should, shouldn’t, because, may, fall….At the and of the game, have them make sentences with Don’t… and Because… .

II. New lesson: (31’) 1. Listen and repeat. (7’)

- Tell Ps that they are going to practise saying sentences with falling intonation. Explain that a negative command or a wh-question is pronounced with falling tone.

- Play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few time. Then put the sentences on the board, play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few more times.

Play the recording a few more times and let Ps say the sentences , paying attention to sentences with falling intonation.

- Do choral and individual repetition of the sentences stress until Ps feel confident.

- Get some Ps to perform in front of the class.

Check as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.

- Play the recording all the way through for Ps to listen. Play it again for them to do the task.

- Get them to compare their answers before checking as a class. Play the recording again to confirm the answers.

- Aks the class to read the completed sentences aloud

- Give explanations for the answers which Ps find difficult

3. Let’s chant. (14’)

- Look at the picture and guess the content

- Look and introduce the chant Why shouldn’t he do that?

- Let’s students read the chant

- Ask Ps to clap the hands forward rhythm.

- Call some groups to the front of the class to say the chant and do actions. The rest of the class claps their hand along to the rhythm .

- Play games : Chants and clap who clap right is winner
