Tell pupils that they are going to read a story in which the characters ask for and giving reason for going somewhere.

Have them look at the four pictures and ask some questions

Play the recording three times for pupils to listen and repeat chorally and individually, point to the characters speaking
Call three pupils to role play 2.Point and say: (12’)
Tell pupils that they are going to practise asking and giving reasons for going somewhere.
Have them look at the bubbles and 4 pictures to understand how the language is used in different context.
Give model with picture a:
P1: Why do you want to go to the zoo?
P2: Because I want to see the animals.
Repeat the procedure with the rest of the pictures Ask pupils to work in pairs in five minutes
Call four pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class. Check as a class and correct
pronunciation, if necessary.

Tell pupils that they are going to practice making suggestions, asking and giving reasons for going to somewhere, using

Tell pupils that they are going to listen to Phong , Tony, Mai and Tom talking to their friends about where they want to go to and the reasons; then circle the correct answers.
Ask Ps to look at the four incomplete sentences and guess the possible answers for each sentence Play the recording three times for pupils to listen and circle the answers
Play the recording again for them to check their answers.

One pupil in group 1 should find a card and show it to group 2 (eg: books)
Gp2 will say: - Let’s go to the bookshop.
Gp1: Why do you want to go to the bookshop?
Gp2: Because I want to buy some books.
Continue the game with another members of the group.

Tell pupils that they are going to read the text and write to fill in the blanks with a suitable word chosen from the text.
Tell pupils to read the questions first Ask them read a letter and focus on the information needed to fill in the blanks in pairs in three minutes
Give them five minutes to do the task individually, go around and offer help, if necessary
Swap their answers before checking as a class, provide explanations to the answers, if necessary

Tell pupils that they are going to write a letter to their friends to describe what their family do before and during Tet, as same as the text in part 4
Have them look at the given words and decide what they are going to write Ask them to write about their Tet Give pupils 7 minutes to do the task individually. Go around offering help, if necessary.
Get them to swap their answers before calling one pupil read aloud his/her writing

Ask pupils to make greeting cards for Tet and write wishes to friends.
Explain the task and check understanding.
Give each pupil a small card and some colour pencils. Ask them to draw a card for Tet. After decorating the cards, they should think of the words to fill in the information.
Give them time to do the task during the lesson or ask them to do it as homework.
Get pupils to swap their cards in pairs.
Call some of them to the front of the class and show what their partners have done.
