UNIT 16: DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?

Lesson 2 (1, 2, 3) I. Aims.

1. Knowledge.

By the end of this lesson, students will be able to asking and answering questions about the location of pet.

New words: next to, in front of, flower pot, fish tank Structure: Where are the cats?

They are under the table.

2. Skill: Listening, writing, speaking and reading.

3. Attitude.

- Educate Ss to be friendly with friends.

- Educate Ss how to keep their toys carefully and show their emotion with their toys as friend.

II. Teaching aids:

T: Teachers’ book, cards, poster cassette and tape.

Ss: Student book, notebooks III. Teaching method: MAT, TPA.

2. Warm up (4’)

Ask Ss answer the question about the pet.

* Activity 1. ( 10’)

* Look , listen and repeat

- Have Ss open the book page 42 or projector and identify the characters in the pictures.

- Set the scene: you are going to hear 2 conversations between Nam and Mum.

- Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen while they are reading the dialogue.

Yes, I do. I have two dogs / No I don’t

- Play the recording again for Ss to repeat each line of the dialogue a few times.

- Ask the groups to repeat the dialogue and swap

- Have Ss practice the dialogue in pairs.

- Call on some pairs to perform, others comment.

- Correct the mistakes.

* Activity 2. ( 10’)

- Ask Sts to look at the pictures on page 32 or projector and identify the characters - set the scene and model sentences.

- Choose one or two Ss to share their answers with their classmates.

- 3rd: play the recording for Ss to check their answers.

- Have Ss trade their answers in pairs for correction
