UNIT 2: CLOTHING I. Trọng tâm kiến thức, kỹ năng:

1. Topic:

- Clothing

2. Competences:

LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED, LISTEN AND READ A.Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- Introduce the topic of Unit 2 “Clothing”.

- Reading the text for details about “ Ao dai”- the traditional dress of Vietnamese women.

2. Skills:

- Practice the comprehension reading skill.

3. Attitude:

- Help Sts to have good awareness in order to practice reading for details, doing some exercises.

- Love traditional dress of their country- Ao dai.

B. Teaching- aids:

Lesson plan, textbooks, projector.

C. Methods:

- Model-Talk-Practice, individual work, pair work

- Some techniques can be used: Quiz, Gap Fill, Pre question, Qts and answers.

- Divide class into groups. Ask them to look at the clothes people are wearing and take turn to decide where each person comes from.

- Example:

S1: Because she is wearing a Kimono.

- The group who gives the correct answer gets a point.

* Revision:

- Write the word CLOTHING on the board.

- Divide the class into two teams. Students from two teams go to the board and write the words relating to CLOTHING.

- The team which writes more words in limited time is the winner.

- Ask sts to look at the pictures on pages 16 and answer the questions about each of them.

III. NEW LESSON (24’) Step 1: Pre- listening (7’) 1. Vocabulary :

Checking vocabulary: Slap the board - Put the new words on over the board.

- Call two students or two teams of students to the front of the class. Ask them to stand at an equal distance from the board.

- Teacher calls out one of the new words in English in loud voice, the two students must run forward and slap the word on the board. The one who first slaps the correct word is the winner. If the students play in team, the winning team gets a mark. Then ask two more students to come forward, etc...

- Ask sts to listen to the tape and answer the questions:
