        Lesson 1:  Part 4+5 I. OBJECTIVES

1. Knowledge: After the lesson students can:

 - Listen and tick pictures.

- Read and match   *  Language focus:

 - Sentence Pattern “Where will you be…? – I think I’ll be…”

- Vocab: will, think, next, on, in, at, by .

 2. Skills: -Develope Ss listening and reading , writing skills

3. Core competencies and personal qualities:  - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English with others, tobe studious and obedient

II. TEACHING AIDS

1. Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, CD, computer, projector, sachmem.vn.

2. Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

Act 1. Listen and tick(10’).

*Pre: Tell Ps that they are going to listen and  tick. Give a few seconds for Ps to look at the pictures. Check comprehension and give feedback.

*While: Play the recording three times for

Ps to listen, do the task and check their answers.

Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as class.

*Post: Play game Whisper with the words:

at the seaside, in the mountains, in the countryside.

Act 2. Read and match(10’).

*Pre: Tell Ps that they are going to read the sentences on the lefl and pair them with those on the right by drawing a line between them.Give Ps a few seconds to look the pictures read the text in silence.

Check comprehension and give feedback.

*While: Get Ps time to do the task. Go around to offer help, if necessary.

Get Ps to swap and check their answers before checking as a class. Write the correct answers on the board for Ps to copy down their notebooks.

*Post: Call some pairs to read the text aloud

Act 3. Let’s sing(10’).

Tell Ps that they are going to sing the Where will you be?

      R e a d e a c h l i n e a n d c h e c k comprehension. Sing each line and have Ps repeat it. When Ps are familiar with the tune, ask them to sing and do the actions.

Ask groups of Ps to sit face to face and practice singing and doing the actions.

Call a group of five to sing the song and do the actions.

Have the whole sing the song and do the actions.

4.Summary: Consolidate the content of the lesson

 the class.

Where will you be next weekend, the mountains or the countryside?

  - Vocabs: know, may, explore, cave. Take a boat trip, build sandcastles  2. Skills: - Develope Ss speaking and listening skills

3. Core competencies and personal qualities: - Help Ss to be more confident to communicate in English with others, to be studious and obedient

- Ask students to look at the 4 pictures  in the book and elicit.

- Play the recording all the way through  for Ss to listen and follow in their book.

- Play the recording again for Ss repeat the text several times.( line by line in the bubbles).

- Point to the picture for Ss to read the dialogue  again

- Have Ss to find out the new structure.

Act 2. Point and say.(14) a. Presenting new words.

- Point to the pictures  and elicit the new words.

- T models  - Ss listen and repeat.

- T writes the word on the board.

- Do the same way with other words.

- T asks Ss to copy down.

Check vocabs:

b. Sentence Pattern:

* Presenting model sentences.

- Point to the first picture  and elicit the  Thing that someone will do   to fill in the gap. Put the sentence on the board:  “Where will you be…? – I think I’ll be…” and have Ss repeat them several times.

- Check the form/ use/ meaning/ Intonation.

3. Practice.( Picture drill)

- Tell Ss that they are going to practice saying. “What will you do…?

– I think I’ll…/ I don’t know. I may…”.

- T models – Ss listen & repeat.( P1)

                           

2. Point and say.

 a. Vocabulary : know:biết , may:có lẽ

 Explore: khám phá  cave :hang động

 Take a boat trip: chuyến du thuyền build sandcastles: xây lâu đài cát

- Replace the activities by doing choral and individual repetition, using 4 pictures in part 2 in the book.

Tell Ss that they are going to practice more with their friends. Give a few seconds for Ss t o r e a d t h e q u e s t i o n s a n d c h e c k comprehension.

Call a pair to give a demonstration of the answer before starting the activity.

Have Ss work in pairs. Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.

Call several pairs to act out the dialogue in front of the class.

-Other Ss observe and give  comments.

4. Summary:

-Ask Ss to focus on the  model sentence once again.

- Retell the content of the lesson.
