Unit 2: Letter Oo Lesson 1
I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge: After the lesson, Ss will be able to recognize and pronounce the letter O and its sound correctly, understand, recognize and say the three O words.

2. Warm up (4’) Matching
T puts 4 pictures on the board and asks Ss go to the board match the picture with the similar meaning
T comments and has Ss repeat all words

*Activity 1: Presentation & Practice (10mins) - T writes on board the letter N to introduce to the
students the new lesson.
- Instruct students how to pronounce the letter name and the letter sound
- T has Ss repeat several times and check students’ pronunciation

- T uses the phonics cards with olive, orange, octopus read the words out loud and has students repeat.
- Ss: listen and repeat
1. Listen, point and repeat. Colour

- Stick the cards on board and have students repeat the words chorally several times (in the correct order and then in any order).
- Ss: read in chorus
- Call some students to say the words out loud and correct their mistakes (if any)

*Activity 3:( (8 mins)
- T has Ss look at the book and listen to the sentences “ This is an orange/olive/octopus - Ss: look and listen
- T has Ss listen and repeat the words for several times.
- Ss: listen and repeat - T asks Ss: Is it a nut?
- Ss: answer yes/no
- T has Ss to point to the corresponding item in the picture.
- Ss: +listen and point then repeat with the rest of the items in random order.
- T gives Ss 3 minutes to choose the picture - Go around the classroom asking students to
name the item they’re circling

- Use the phonics cards on the board and have students sing the chant with olive. Do the same with orange and octopus.
- Do the chant again using gestures for each word.

I. Objectives:
1. Knowledge: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to read and say the three N words correctly recognize and say a new O word correctly
2. Skills: listening, speaking, 3. Attitude: Ss like study English.
