UNIT 13: WOULD YOU LIKE SOME MILK?

Lesson 1: Part 1, 2 I.

OBJECTIVES 1. Knowledge:

- By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Pupils can ask and answer questions about the someone’s favourite food and drink.

- Sentence Patterns:What your favourite ______? − It’s ______.

- Vocabulary:food, beef / food, pork / drink, orange juice / drink, water 2. Skills.

- Listening and speaking.

3. Core competencies & Personal qualities - Educate Ss how to keep healthy

- Positive about recipes and eating habits

- Students know how to learn English in right way.

- Self- study.

- Communication and co-operation.

TEACHING AIDS

1. Teacher’s: Lesson plan, books, CDs and computer.

2. Students’: Books, notebooks, workbooks.

III. PROCEDURES ( 35’)

Teacher’s and Ss’ activities Content 1.Warm up. (5’)

- Say greetings.

- Ask ss to ask and answer about the job of their family member and where they work.

2. Presentation ( 30 mins)

Act 1 : Look, listen and repeat (8’)

* Set the scene:

- T uses the pictures of the dialogue on page 18(Student book 2) to lead Ss in the

conversation

- Ask students to look at the 4 pictures in the book and check comprehension by eliciting the answers for these questions.

- Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen and follow in their books.

- Play the recording again for Ss repeat the dialogue several times( line by line in the bubbles).

- Point to the picture for Ss to read the dialogue again

- Introduce the new words

- Have Ss to find out the new structure.

Act 2. Point and say. (12’) Sentence Pattern:

* Presenting new words.

food, drink, beef, pork, orange juice - Checking: Slap the board.

* Presenting model sentences.

- Ask ss to look at the pictures to identify the food and drink.

- Point to the picture a and elicit the class to fill in the gap. Put the sentence on the board:

and have Ss repeat them several times.

- Check the form/ use/ meaning/ intonation

* Practice.

- Tell Ss that they are going to practice asking and answering questions about the time.

- T model – Ss listen & repeat.

- Ask ss to do in choral and individual repetition, using the pictures in the book.

- T asks Ss point and say.

- T and student model.

LESSON 3: Part 1, 2, 3 I. OBJECTIVES.

1. Knowledge:

-By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Pronounce the final letters f in beef and leaf, and the final letter clusters sh in fish and dish.

- Listen and tick the letters showing the correct words filling the gapped sentences. Then say the completed sentences aloud.

- Say the chant Would you like some fish?

- Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision

2. Skills:

- Listening, writing and speaking.

3. Core competencies & Personal qualities - Educate Ss how to keep healthy

- Positive about recipes and eating habits

Activity 1: Listen and repeat.(10’) -Introduce the sounds /f/.

- Ps’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words beef and leaf. Ss learn to produce the sound of the letters /f/ in these words .

- Listen and repeat. Read in groups in pairs.

- Ps practice the sounds carefully.

- Some Ss reports the answer. The rest of the class listen and give comments.

- Ask ss to find some other words with the sound have learnt.

- Ask ss to listen and repeat the sentences.

- Do the same with the sound of the letters sh.

*Activity 2. Listen and write. Then write and say aloud.(10’)

- Run through the task then tell ss that they are going to listen and write the words they hear. Guess the answers.

- Listen to the recording 2 times and circle.

- Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partners.

- Check and correct.

- Ask ss to practise saying the sentences

*Activity 3. Let’s chant(5’)

- Introduce the Chant Would you like some fish?

-Ps listen to the tape and chant -Ps chant in group and individual.

-Ps chant and do the action.

-Teacher reinforce their pronunciation 3. Application ( 4’)

- Asking Ps to focus on the structure once again.
