UNIT 16: DO YOU HAVE ANY PETS?

Lesson 3 : 1,2,3( page 44) I. Objectives:

1. Knowledge:

- By the end of this lesson, Students will be able to

- Pronounce the sounds of the letters o in the words: dog and parrot respectively.

- Listen and fill the gapped sentences with the words dog and parrot.

- Say the chant: Do you have any cats?

2. Skills : Develop writing, speaking and listening skill 3. Attributes:

- Ss confident perform the chant.

- Ss love their pets and be kind to your pets!

4. Competence:

- Using knowledge to do exercise.

- Ss active draw their pets.

- Be self-conscious complete the exercises.

II. Language focus - Vocabulary: review

1.Organization (1’) : Greeting and warm up the class

Play the CD and have Ps repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role.

- T ask Ss to read the title. Ss: read.

- T: What does it mean? Ss: nghe và nhắc lại - T: ask ss to listen the tape.

- Ss: listen and repeat to the tape.

- T: model o and o in the words dog, parrot.

- Ss: repeat inchrorus, invidualy (4ss)

*Activity 2 (10’)

- Aim: Consolidate two sounds o and o through listening and writing skill.

- In put: 2 sentences in part 2 on page 44 and listening file of part 2

- Procedures:

- Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank.

- T ask Ss to read the title Ss: read

- T: What does it mean? Ss: nghe và viết.

- T: How many numbers? Ss: 2 - T lets SS run through

- T asksSs to tell the task

- Ask Ss to open the books on page 34 -Ask ss to listen1 st time. Ss listen.

- Ask Ss to listen 2 nd time. Ss listen.

- Ask ss to tell the answers.

- Ask Ss to compare with their partners.

* Further practice: Chinese whisper - T devides Ss in to 2 groups.

- Aim: say the chant “Do you have any cats?”

- In put: The chant “Do you have any cats?” on page 44 and the listening file

- Procedures:

-Tell pupils that they are going to read the Do you have any cats? chant. Give a few seconds for pupils to read the chant in silence. Read each line and check comprehension. Give feedback and get pupils to read each line a few times. Show pupils how to say the chant while doing the actions.

-Ask group of pupils to sit face to face and practise chanting and doing the actions. Go around to offer help, if necessary.

-Call two groups to the front of the class to chant and do the actions: one group chants the questions and the other chants the answers. The rest of the class claps along to the rhythm.

- Out put: listen and say the chant How many desks?” and claps along the correct rhythm

-Have pupils work in pairs as the characters in the picture.

Go around to offer help and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.
