- Teacher says “g…g..” then have students say the word “girl”.

- Teacher says “h…h..” then have students say the word “hop”.

- Teacher points to the “girl” flashcard and says “This is a…” then have students say the word

New words- Listen and point. Say (10’)

1.  Arrange the flashcards on the board, play audio CD-74, and have students listen and repeat.

Point to the flashcards along with the audio. Repeat several times.

2.  Play audio again and have students listen, repeat, and point to the pictures in their books.

3.  Change the order of the flashcards, point to them individually and have students say the words, correct pronunciation when needed.

Activities:

* Option 1: Play "Guess."

- Arrange the flashcards on the board and write a number under each card.

- Have students look at the flashcards and remember its position for 5 seconds.

- Ask students to head down/ close their eyes.

- Turn the flashcards over to face the board.

- Call out a number and have students take turns to guess the face-down card. Turn the card over after each guess.

* Option 2: TPR practice

- Say the word and all together make the gestures/ sound according to the word (Ex: monkey- kec kec, use hands to do actions like a monkey).

- Teacher can make the gestures and have students guess what animal is.

- Or Teacher can say an animal and have students make the gestures.

* Option 3: Game on i-ebook Listening- 1. Listen and point. (5’)

1. Have students call out the things they can see in this part.

2. Have students listen and follow.

3. Play audio CD- 75 and demonstrate pointing to the animals.

4. Play audio again. Have students listen and point to the animals.

Listening- 2. Listen and repeat. (5’)

1. Have students look at the useful language box.

2. Play audio CD-76. Have students listen to the useful language.

3. Have students practice the useful language when pointing to the picture of the animals.

* Option 1: Look, listen and say “Yes” or “No”.

- Teacher holds a flashcard and says a sentence “ This is a …”. The animal in the flashcard and the animal in the sentence the teacher said maybe the same or different.

- Students say “Yes” if  the animal in the flashcard and the animal in the sentence the teacher said are the same.

- Students say “No” if  the animal in the flashcard and the animal in the sentence the teacher said

- Invite some students to hold the flashcards and say.

*  Option 2: Look and say.

- Teacher holds a flashcard (the pictures face to the teacher)  and quickly reveal each one.

- Students say “This is a…” according to the animal they saw in the flashcard.

Speaking- Play “Stepping stones”. (5’) 1. Divide the class into pairs.

2. Have Student A start at A and say the first sentence, using “This is a…”.

3. Have Student B start at B and say the first sentence.

4. Have students take turns saying the sentences and go all the way round.

Activities: (optional)

*  Option 1: Listen and stand up.

- Give 6 flashcard (cat, dog, bird, snake, bear, monkey) to 6 students in the class.

- Invite 1 student to stand up and hold the flashcard up high and say a sentence, using “I like… or This is a …” with name of an animal in the flashcard of the other friends.

- The boy/girl with the flashcard of the animal called will stand up and hold the flashcard up high and say a sentence, using “I like… or This is a …” with name of an animal in the flashcard of the other friends.

- Teacher can give the flashcard from 1 student to another student during the activity.

- The last students say the word/words aloud.

- Show the students

Activity 7.  Listen, point and repeat. Colour the pictures of the words that start with the t sound.

- Pretend to drink tea and say: /t/ - tea. Encourage the students to do the same.

- Ask the students to take out their colour pencils/ crayons

- Give the students 2 minutes to colour in the pictures of the words that begin with the /t/ sound.

Activity 5.  Read and write(10’)

Have pupils open their books to Page 59. Get Ss to identify the characters in the pictures and what they are saying.

- Tell Ss that they are going to read and get information to write the missing words in dialogue 1 and 2.

- Ss read silently and do the task by using “Enjoy Voting” software.

- Make some questions to check Ss’ comprehension of the reading text.

- Have the whole class read each line of the dialogues chorally to reinforce their pronunciation.

Have Ss look at Pictures and guess what it is

Ss write the name of the game or activities into the gap and answer the question.

- Ask students to look at the 4 pictures  in the book and check comprehension by eliciting the answers for these questions.

- Play the recording all the way throught for Ss to listen and follow in their book.

- Play the recording again for Ss repeat the text several times.( line by line in the bubbles).

- Point to the picture for Ss to read the dialogue  again - Have Ss to find out the new structure.

Activity 2. Point and say.(15’) a. Prestenting new words.

Have pupils look at pictures on Page 66. Elicit the characters in the pictures and their names.

Ask Ss observe the pictures and identify the people in pictures in book on page 67 Students read the title.

T runs through the pictures

       How many pictures are there?

      Who are they?

      What are they doing?

How many dialogues are there?

Ask students to listen and write the words to complete the dialogue.

- Work in pairs to do the exercise then practice in pairs in front of the whole class. The rest listen to and give the remark.  

Correct the pronunciation Actvity 5. Read and write.(10’)

T introduces the topic “you are going to read the sentences and find the suitable information to match”.

- Ss read the sentences individually and do the exercise.

- Have Ss trade the answers in pairs for correction

- Call on some Ss to report their answers. Others listen and comment.

- Have the whole class  read each sentence in chorus to reinforce their pronunciation Activity 6. Let’s sing (10’)

Introduce the song on Page 67.

- Play the recording and listen to the song “ Hide- and- seek”

- Play the recording again for pupils to sing each line of the rhythm.

- Call on a group of six to the front of the class and do the actions. The others clap their hands after the song

- Group work. Pupils practise singing and doing the actions in groups.

- Monitor the activity and help them when necessary. Correct pronunciation Ss’ errors.

Play the CD and have Ss repeat each line of the chant. Then change the role.

Focus Ss’ attention on the letters colored differently in the words blind and skating - Introduce the sounds /bl/ and /sk/      

- Have Ss practice the sounds carefully

- Play the CD and have Ss read the chant in chorus.

Activity 2. Listen and write.(10’)

Have pupils look at the sentences and guess the suitable words to fill in the blank.

- Play the recording 2 times pupils to listen and fill the blanks. Check their guess. Compare the answer with the partner. 

- Play the recording again pupils check their answers. T give the answer:

- Have pupils act out the dialogue in pairs or groups for correction.

- Ask some questions to ensure pupils’ comprehension of the listening text.

Activity 3. Let’s chant(10’)

Tell Ss that they are going to say the

“ What do you do at break time?” chant.

Have them read the chant and check comprehension.

Play the recording all through Ss listen and  follow in their books.

Play the recording again Ss listen and  read line by line.

Divide the class into2 groups .G1: read the questions, G2: read the answers.
