LESSON 3: LISTEN A. Aims of the lesson:

1. Knowledge:

- Practice in talking about preparations and listen for details. Students will be able to talk about their preparations for a special event.

* Language focus:

a) Vocabulary: about festivals

b) Grammar: compound nouns; passive form.

2. Skills:

- Develop Ss’ Listen and read

- Improve the skill to common in pairs, in groups, practice the dialogue.

*. Kĩ năng sống cần giáo dục:

- Rèn luyện kĩ năng giao tiếp qua hỏi và trả lời. Đồng thời thể hiện sự tự tin khi nghe bài bằng băng đĩa do người nước ngoài đọc.

- Kĩ năng lắng nghe tích cực để có thể phát âm một cách chuẩn xác các động từ.

- Active to listening then discuss in groups about special event in the year.

The buffalo fighting festival

This report shows the buffalo fighting festival is held in Do Son town. It is often held every year about 9th August. The festival usually lasts one day. There are many competitions with their buffalo. People from other provinces and in the city come into the festival which is held in the stadium of the town. It lasts from early morning to late afternoon. Each pairs of buffalo fight against to each other. If the buffalo runs away, other will win the game.
