Spend a few minutes revising the story in activity 1 by inviting some pairs to act it out in front of the class.

1. Look, listen and repeat. (11’)

- Tell the class that they are going to read listen to a story about Tony and Akio.

- Look at the pictures and ask them quetions: who are the character in the pictures? Where are they?

What are they doing? (Tony and Akio are in the park. In picture a, Tony wants to ask Akio some questions for his survey and she agrees. In picture b, he asks what she does in her free time and she say she watches cartoons on Tv. In picture c, he goes on and asks How about your mother? What does she do in her free time? And Akio answers She goes

shopping . In pictuer d , Tony thanks Akio)

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in their books. Play it again for them to do choral repetition, pointing to the characters soeaking.

- Play the recording again for pupils to listen and repeat.

- Practice with ps.

- Devide the class into 2 groups. Asks practice in pairs.

- Go round and check ps can repeat and understand the dialogue.

- Tell Ps that they are going to practise saying the qustionsand answers.

- Explain that wh-questions and answers have falling intonation.

- Play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few time.

Then put the sentences on the board, play the recording and ask Ps to repeat a few more times.

After that, write the sentences on the board.

- Play the recording a few more times and let Ps say the sentences, paying attention to the falling intonation.

- Do choral and individual repetition of the sounds, words and sentences until Ps feel confident.

- Get some Ps to perform in front of the class. Check as a class and correct the pronunciation, if necessary.

- Check their comprehension.

- Play the recording all the way through for pupils to listen and follow in the their books. Play it again for them to repeat line by line, pointing to the characters speaking..

- Check their understanding of the story.
