I. Objective:

1. Knowledge: After the lesson, Ss will be able to practise 2 sounds / l/ and / n + Sentence Patterns: Revision  

+ Vocabulary: Revision   2. Skills: listening, speaking.

1.Warm up ( 5’) - Say greetings.

- Have Ss play the game:

Slap the board.

Lead in the new lesson: Unit 1- Lesson 3(1.2.3) 2. Presentation ( 30 mins)

2.1. Listen and repeat (5’)

- T has Ss open the book page10, draw their attention to the letters colored differently in the words Hello, Linda      and  Good night - T introduces the sound of the letter l and n - Ss: look at the board and listen

- T has Ss repeat the focused sounds a few times.

- Ss: listen and repeat

- T plays the recording twice and ask Ss to repeat

- T monitors the activity and offer help when necessary

- T calls on someone to pronounce

- T calls on two pairs to role play then asks them to practice in pairs

- T calls some pair to perform then has the whole class repeat all the phrases a few times to reinforce their pronunciation

Teach the new words

- Using pictures to present the words (4 pictures in the book page 6.)

T has Ss listen and repeat several time from chorus to individual

- Check: rub out and remember +Ss work individually

* Set the scene:

- T uses the picture of the dialogue on page 14(Student book 1) to lead Ss in the conversation - Ask students to look at the 3 pictures in the book and check comprehension by eliciting the answers for these questions.

T: What’s her name?( pointing to the student) Ss: she’s Akiko.

T: Where is she? Ss: …...

(Akiko is going to tell about her country and nationality)

- Play the recording all the way through for Ss to listen and follow in their books.

- Play the recording again for Ss repeat the dialogue several times.( line by line in the bubbles).

- Point to the picture for Ss to read the dialogue again

- Have Ss to find out the new structure.

2.2. Act 2. Point and say.(10’) a. Prestenting new words.

- Point to the pictures in part 2 and elicit the New words.

- T models - Ss listen and repeat.

+ WC/ + Groups( Optional)/ + Individual - T writes the word on the board.

- Do the same way with other words.

Check vocabs: Matching - T asks Ss to copy down.
