LESSON 3: LISTEN

A. Objectives

*Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to listen to a story to draw out a moral lesson

* Attitude: Help Ss to be more confident to communicate with others in learning English, help them to draw a moral lesson for themselves

* Skill: Practise listening skill.

B. Teaching aids

T's’preparation: Lesson plan, text book, pictures, tapes, cassette player.

Ss' ’reparation: Text book, notebook, pen, homework.

II.Warm up: * Transformation (5m)

-T says about Nga’s life now , and Sts transform them to Nga’s grandmother’s life in the past.

T: Nga goes to school.

Sts: But her grandmother used to stay at home.

T : Nga lives in the city.

Sts: But her grand mother used to live on a farm.

III. New lesson:

Step 1- Pre listening (15m) a. Preteach:

- T introduces vocab using some techniques - Sts listen and read in chorus 3 times, then individually.

A. Objectives

*Knowledge: By the end of the lesson Ss will be able to understand and retell the story and then know the way to tell about the events in the past.

* Attitude: Help Ss to be more confident to communicate with others in learning English, help them to draw a lesson from the folk tales

* Skill: Practise reading skill.

B. Teaching aids

Step 2. While- reading (15m) Act 1. Read the story.

Act 2. Check their predictions.

Act 3. Complete the sentence.

T asks Sts to complete the sentences in Read 1 ( P. 42)

* Sts read the story again and then answer the questions in Read 2 ( P. 42)

Step 3. Post- reading (8m) Act 1. Recall.

- Sts work in pairs, using the word cues given to retell the story.
