-T points to the picture on the book and sets the scene: Hanh and her mother have just got home from the market. They open the kitchen door and see this scene. Now use the given words /verbs and fill in the gaps.

-Let Ss prepare, compare in pairs.

3.Activity 3: Language focus 4:

Reported speech:

-T sets the scene: The plumber came to Mrs Thu’s door-Lan’s mother.

He said: “I am a plumber”.

When Lan got home, Mrs Thu reported that to Lan: He said that he was a plumber.

+Concept check: What tense of the verb do we use to report the plumber’s sentence?(Past simple)

-T introduces the changes of the tenses and others in Reported speech.

II.Warm up: Getting started Matching:

-T and Ss runs through the names of some famous world landmarks.

-Let Ss match the pictures with the right names

-T can ask Ss to collect more pictures of the wonders in the world before this lesson(Ha Long Bay, Golden Gate Bridge…..) and show before class

-T can introduce something about these places and collects more information from Ss.

Step 1. Pre - reading +Check: Ro and R.

-T sets the scene: Nga and Hoa are playing a game called 20 Qs. How does this game work? Rearrange the statements about the game in the right order.

-T shows Ss a poster:

-T runs through the sentences with Ss.

-Let Ss predict the order of these sentences, compare in pairs.

-T collects Ss’ ideas, writes on the board(next to the poster)

Step 2. While- reading.

*Activity 1: T asks Ss to read the dialogue and check again their predictions.

*Activity 2: Matching:

-T shows Ss another poster:

-Let Ss read the words and their definitions, then match.
