LESSON 2: SPEAK , LANGUAGE FOCUS 3 A. Objectives:

1.The aims: By the end of the lesson, ss will be able to:

- Ask for and respond to favors, offer and respond to assistance 2. Knowlege.

- Standard: Ask for and respond to favors, offer and respond to assistance.

- Higher: make real conversation.

3. Language focus.

+ Vocabulary: favor(n); of course; assistance(n); offer(v); respond(v); may(v);

unite( v) shout(v); hold(v).

+ Structures: Modals: can, could, may.

4. Skills:

+ Speaking: Ask for and respond to favors, offer and respond to assistance 5. Attitude:

+ Students know how to ask for and give favors to people and give suitable respond to them in real situation in their life.

- Cut out a shark and a school girl / boy from card

- Draw some steps, then stick the cut out girl / boy on the top of the steps , the sharks in the sea

- Draw 5 gaps for the word – favor III. New lesson(34’)

Step 1: Pre - speaking (10’)

- Ask Ss the meanings of the word FAVOR (sự giúp đỡ, chiếu cố, ân huệ)

Yes / No. Thank you . - Ask Ss to copy down the following phrases.

- Ask Ss to repeat chorally and then individually all the phrases in the chart.

- Get sts to practise speaking in pairs.

- Give sts another situation and ask them to write a similar dialogue: Your aunt wants you to buy some vegetables because she is busy cooking dinner.

- Prepare new lesson: Unit 6- Lesson 3: Listen
