LESSON 1: GETTING STARTED, LISTEN AND READ

A.Objectives: By the end of the lesson, student will be able to be aware of how to make accept and deline invitations .

1. Knowledge

- By the end of the lesson students will be able to reading for details about making , accepting and declining invitations.

- Learn some vocabulary about the topic.

2. Skills

- Reading comprehension skill, asking and answering skill 3. Attitude

- Students will be able to be aware of how to make, accept and deline invitations .

C. Methods: Guessing game, T/ F prediction, Grid, Question and answer.

Step 1: Pre - reading (13’)

- Today , we are going to read about making plans for a vacation abroad . Let's start with some new words .

1. Pre- teach Vocabulary : - (translation)

2. T/F Prediction (CNTT)

* Set the scence: " Mrs Quyen is going to the USA for a vacation. She is ringing her friend, Mrs Smith, to tell her about the trip"

- Show T/F statements on the board.

- Ask one student to read all of them aloud answers.

- Ask Ss to work in pairs to guess if statements are true or fasle .

- Get Ss to give their predictions and write them on the board.

Step 2: While - reading (14’)

- Ask Ss to listen to the tape 2 times and check their predictions.

- Call on sts to correct the false statements . - Ask Ss to play the role to practice the dialogue

- Draw the grid on the board and have Ss copy it.

- Ask Ss to read the dialouge again and work in pairs to complete Mr Quang's schedul - After some minutes, call on some Ss go to the board to write the information in the grid on the board.

- Have Ss copy them in their notebooks
