UNIT 9 : NATURAL DISASTERS LESSON 6: Language Focus .

A. Objectives: By the end of the lesson, students will be able to practice on Relative pronouns: who- which- that.

B. Teaching aids: Text books, pictures.

C. Methods: Quiz, Questions- answers.

STEP 2 : WARM UP (5 minutes) 1. Quiz

- Divide the class into two teams.

- Call out the questions and the students have to answer as quickly as possible. The team having the right answers gets good marks. The team, which has more marks, wins the games.

* Questions:

1. Which country won the 1998 Tiger Cup?

2. Which animal has 1 or 2 horns on its snout?

3. Which explorer discovered America?

4. Which planet is closest to the earth?

5. Which animal was chosen to be the logo of Sea Games2003?

6. Which ASEAN country is divided into two regions by the sea?

7. Which food can you chew but can’t swallow?

8. Which thing can you swallow but can’t chew?

STEP 3 : NEW LESSON (35minutes) I. Presentation :

- Give feedback.

- Correct their pronunciation.

- Have students work in closed pairs to ask and answer the questions.

Combine each pair of sentences into one by using suitable Relative Pronouns.

A. Objectives:

1. Aims:

- At the end of the lesson ss will be able to read a text about UFOs for details to complete the notes.

2. Practice skills:

- Reading skill

3. The knowledge needs to get:

+ Standard knowledge: Read a text for details about some UFOs + Advanced knowledge: Write about UFO sightings

4. Basic language:

Tense: present perfect, present simple and past simple tense.

Vocabulary: spacecraft, meteor, evidence, alien , capture, device, claim.
