UNit 4 - learning a foreign language

I. Objectives:

- By the end of this unit, Ss will be able to express opinions, seak information for learning a foreign language and give advice to someone.

- Introduce conditional sentence "if" with modal verbs: must, have to, should, might, ought to to talk about conditions and results.

- Introduce reported speech: statements and questions.

- Practice speaking, listening, reading and writing skill.

+ Speaking: Ask for and give information about language study/ language courses.Expressing opinions to talk about method os study.

+ Listening: Listen to a monologues for general information.

There are about 3,000 living languages in the world today but only six of them are major languages of the world.Two third of the world’s population speak those languages.More than 400 million speak English as their first or native language.

Another 400 million speak it as a second language. Nobody know exactly how many people speak it as a foreign language. Chinese is the only language with more speakers than English. That is because of the huge population of China. It’s true that English is
