LESSON 3: LISTEN A. Objectives:

- By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to know what Na is going to do on weekend by listening.

- Helping students improve their listening skill.

- Ss look at the advertisements and guess what is in the blanks.

- T collects and write their answers on the bb.

* Listening and checking

- T asks Ss to listen to the tape and fill in the blanks in each advertisement.

- Ss listen and fill in the blanks.

- Ss give feedback.

- T corrects the mistakes.

*Comprehension questions:

Na: Hi, Nam.

Nam: Hello, Na. What are you going to do this weekend?

Na: I’m not sure. I just don’t know what to do and where to go in this neighborhood.

Nam: Why don’t we look at “What’s on this weekend? ” in the newspaper.

Na: Good idea. Can youi suggestn what I should do?

Nam: Do you like movies? There is a film at Millennium Cinema.

Na: What’s that? The new comer, an australian film, I’ve seen this film before. I saw it on star movie channel.

Nam: You did?

Na: Yes (pause). Here the photo exhibition at the Cultural House sounds exciting.

Nam: But it doesn’t open during the weekend. And you can not go to the English Speaking Contest either. It is at

Nguyen Khuyen school, and it is Thursday.

(pause). Ah, yes. Here, the soccer, a match between Le Do school and Quang Trung school – The best U15 teams in our province. I will defilitely go and see it with Ba and Minh.

Na: Where do they play?

Nam: At the Town Ground. This is verry special event in town, I can tell you. Would you like to tell us?

Na: Oh, yes. I’d love to. I’ve never been to a soccer match before. It must be fun to watch a real match at the stadium. I’d like to visit the Town Ground, too.

Nam: Great. I’ll tell Minh and Ba to come to your home, and we will go together.

Remember the match starts at 4 pm, but we must be there by 3.30 if we don’t want to miss the opening show.

Step 3 – Post- listening (10m)
