I. OBJECTIVES

By the end of the lesson, Ss will be able to…

1. Knowledge

- use "so" to show a result of something;

- grammar: compound sentences with "so";

2. Competence

- improve the use of language

- develop the ability to communicate and cooperate with their partners, to self- study and other skills

3. Quality

- have a positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively

participate in all classroom activities, especially with the topic “The world around us”.

III. PROCEDURES

A. Warm up: Play "Bingo" (5’)

a) Objective: To help Ss relax and make students feel motivated.

b) Content: Chatting

- Ask each S to take a small piece of paper.

- Let them choose and write down 5 words on their papers.

a) Objective: To help Ss know the use of the conjunction " so".

c) Product: Ss can understand the conjunction "so" to show a result of something.

a) Objective: Ss can practice the junction ‘so’

b) Content: Matching the two halves, filling the blanks

c) Products: Ss can join the clauses to make better sentences using ‘so’

- pronounce the /ou/ sound correctly - preparing for an overnight adventure 2. Competence

- improve pronunciation, speaking skill

- develop the ability to communicate and cooperate with their partners, and other skills

3. Quality

- Ss have positive attitude in English language learning so that they actively

participate in all classroom activities, especially with the topic “The world around us"

A. Warm up: (5’)

a) Objective: The objective of this activity is to help Ss relax, checkup. and interest the topic of the lesson.

b) Content: Pelmanism

c) Product: Ss can review vocabulary learnt in the previous lesson d) Organization of the activity:

- Prepare 12 cards with numbers (from 1 to 12) on one side and the words and its meaning in Vietnamese on the other side.

- Stick the cards on the board so that the Ss can only see the numbers; make sure the words and its meaning in Vietnamese are mixed up.

- Divide the class into teams and ask them to choose two numbers at the same time.

- Turn the cards over if the match: Ex:

pillow - cái gối, that team gets one point. If not, turn the card over again and ask the next team to continue to choose numbers.

- Continue until all the cards are turned over. The team that has more marks will win the game.

- Tell it in front of the class
