UNIT 4: HOW OLD ARE YOU?

LESSON 3 (4- 5- 6) I. OBJECTIVES

1. Knowledge:

By the end of the lesson, students will be able to:

- Introduce and ask and answer questions about someone and someone's age.

- Read and match the questions with the answers.

- Read and fill the gapped exchanges.

- Present the list of their friends’ names and ages, and talk to the class.

- Sentence Patterns: Revision - Vocabulary: Revision

* Special students : Chuc, Dung can say “ I’m 8.”

2.Skills:

- Develop speaking, reading and writing 3. Core competencies & Personal qualities - Ss confident in communicate with their friends.

- Ss love English, friends and teacher.

- Ask Ss trade their answers within pairs or groups for correction.

Lesson 1 (1.2.3) I. OBJECTIVES

1.Knowledge.

By the end of this lesson, Students will be able to -Introduce one's friend and respond to the introduction.

- Vocabulary: Peter, Tony, Mary, Hoa, this is, nice to meet you

Set the scene: you are going to listen to Mai, Linda and Mary greet and introduce one’s friend and respond to the introduction.

- Have them look at pictures to discuss the context in which the language is used. Ask them questions such as

Who are they? Where are they? and What are they talking about?

- Tell student that they are going to listen and repeat the dailouge.

- Play the recording for student to listen twice.

- Play the recording again for student to listen and repeat the dialogue.

- Divide class into two groups to practice the dailogue/in pairs.

- Call some pairs to practice in the class to check Ss’ pronunciation and make sure that Ss’ understanding the dailogue.

- Ask student to Look at the picture a and give model sentence.

- Set the sence. Tell pupils that they are going to practise introducing and responding to one’s friend.

- Ask student to read individually silently complete the dialogues.

- Ask student to read their answers aloud to the class.

- Correct and give keys.

Activity 3.Let's sing.(7’)

- Set the scene. Tell pupils that they are going to sing the song “The more we are together”

-Teaching new words: together, the more, happier

- Play the recording for student to get

familiarized with the pronunciation, the stress, the rhythm and the intonation of the song.

- Have them read each line of the lyrics. Check comprehension.

- Play the recording all the way through. Ask pupils to do choral and individual repetition of the song line by line.

- Have the class sing the song again and clap their hands to reinforce the activities.

4. Summary ( 2’) - Review the lesson.

- Educate Ss to be friendly with their friends.

- Ask Ss to recite the song and further practice at home.
